So did everyone hear that the Disney Wonder is going to be sailing out of Vancouver, BC in the summer of 2011 for 18 Alaska cruises? How about it Beth? You always said you wanted to do an Alaska cruise! Now you can do it the disney way!

Sarah

WOW! When do they start bookings? That may be something we could actually do since we don't have to fly to get to the port! I'm uber excited!

It doesn't specifically say...just gives the cruise line phone number and web address! Wouldn't it be fun to go?

I was gonna say the same thing. :goodvibes

We might actually be able to afford a Disney cruise since we could just drive to the port. Sure it would be about a 7 hour drive from Spokane, but who cares.....so worth it! :thumbsup2

Isn't this awesome! :cool1: I saw it on Mousesavers today! I think it said they will begin bookings later this month and they expect them to fill fast! This actually might be doable for us since we won't have to fly six to Florida AND pay for the cruise!:scared1:
And I would love to see Alaska as well! :woohoo:
Maybe a group of us should book the same cruise!!!! With our families, of course! :thumbsup2

I have been wanting to go on a Disney Cruise so badly. But when I figured in the costs of airplane tickets and everything else it just wasn't going to possible. We've always wanted to go to Alaska. Looks like we may be able to accomplish both at the same time.

$939 per person based on double occupancy for a standard inside.

:headache: Hope there's a decent discount for 3rd passengers, since we will be needing 2 cabins (5 people). Gee, wish Disney would figure out that MOST families these days are not FOUR.

Hey ladies, how much cash should I bring with me to the parks? I will be there for 5 days and will need it for the meet and for any snack cart...Should I just do $100 or should I do $300? Choices choices.

Hi Ladies,

Happy Friday! Thanks for the comments everyone. :grouphug: I feel better today. Yesterday I spoke with my mom on the phone and she said to have my bro drive me to their chiropractor. Apparently one of my grandma's sister's daughter's daughter (try saying that 5 times fast!) is married to this chiropractor. I never met him before.

I went down there and he said: "Your back looks awful!" He noticed that I was leaning towards the left (pain is mostly on the right). He did some massages and it actually was painful because my back was so sore. He also popped it a few times, which scared me. :rotfl: I felt a lot better this morning and made it into work. I am wearing a back brace under my clothes to help support my back. It feels weird like I'm wearing a girdle. :rotfl: He wants me to go back for more treatment after work today. The traffic is really really bad on the way to his office and also back. :(

Oh, here is a messenger bag that I decorated:

 Let's see, $939 x 6 = :scared1:

LOL I WAS interested in this until I read that price. Maybe I'll stick with Princess cruises. lol

AMEN sister!!!

Tracey - I'm glad you had an awesome birthday at Disneyland and yay for the great score at Buzz :woohoo: That sounds like a perfect way to spend your birthday :thumbsup2

Tracey, what an awesome birthday!! Wow!! :goodvibes

Tracey I am glad you had fun on your birthday!! Sounded like a blast!

Sounds like you had fun! I'm glad the tips helped you out; I see you even got Donna on the ride!! And I LOVE your first picture!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Happy Birthday, again!

I had to go an look and make sure I hadn't accidentally posted a pic of Donna! It was the heart that gave her away, wasn't it??

Funny thing about the picture of me. I was reaching for my phone which had started to ring. I was so disgusted that it had messed up my turn!

Good morning ladies!!!

Tracy--It sounds like you had the perfect birthday!

Big hugs to all. I am off to the beach for the day

See ya!!

Thanks everyone. It truly was a wonderful day.

Thanks for the reminder:thumbsup2

Bummer! Hope he's ok!

Sarah

I watched the D23 announcement of it. I am so excited! We were already planning an Alaska Cruise in 2011. I am definetly going to make this happen for us. I already have at least two other families that say they want to go. If anyone else really wants to go, then let me know. Maybe we can get group pricing? It is two years away. We should be able to save, right??

$939 per person based on double occupancy for a standard inside.
Wow! Where did you see that? I have not been able to find anything on price yet. But I was estimating it similiar to a 7 day carribean. If that is true, then the 3rd passenger will be about $600 would be my guess. I think I will commit to going in the arm season and taking the kids out of school, because I already know that I want to book category 5, which is 6 higher than that price!!

:headache: Hope there's a decent discount for 3rd passengers, since we will be needing 2 cabins (5 people). Gee, wish Disney would figure out that MOST families these days are not FOUR.
No kidding!

I would go with at least $200. Those snacks add up quickly.

 Let's see, $939 x 6 = :scared1:

AMEN sister!!!

Even Princess is high! Except the occasional deal, you are really going to be paying $600-$800 per person.

And worst yet, Alaska has some really high taxes right now, but they were trying to get rid of some of them, so hopefully that passed.

We'd probably be up for the Alaska Cruise! I just need to start saving now.

Sarah--I usually bring about $300 in cash on our trips.

Callie--I was checking out the cruise website, and there are family suites that sleep 5. I'd hope that would cost less than 2 rooms.

Hi everyone! I'm sure you're all asleep now but you'll read this in the morning. Tracey, what a sweet, wonderful trip report that was! It really brought back the day for me and also made me laugh (about the sticky lip gloss). I will never forget the day.

What's really funny is that I kept thinking, yeah, Tracey's b-day, that was like a week ago. It's because so much has happened at d23 expo since then.

Maybe you all know, but after a somewhat shaky start Thursday, today expo got into full swing. The highlight was a presentation in the main arena that seats 7500, hosted by Dick Cook of Disney. He showed clips, many in 3D, of upcoming Disney live-action films such as Alice, Christmas Carol, The Last Song, Old Dogs and more. He would bring out talent such as Travolta and Preston (and their daughter), Tim Burton, Nic Cage, Zemeckis, and talk to them a bit about their film. Miley Cyrus spoke and then sang with her band.

The Muppets came out on a boat like the DL Steamboat and sang. It was just one amazing thing after another.

But the last thing was not a total surprise to me because I heard a CM tell someone that they did not want to miss this presentation. His eyes were, I told Vicki, Johnny Depp eyes.

So sure enough, at the very end, the wonderful Pirates music comes on and they put the film's logo on the three big screens. The curtain opens and a ship is backlit, surrounded by smoke. A silhouette of a pirate appears, on the ship as it turns, and yes, it is Johnny Depp in full makeup and costume as Jack.

He gets off the ship and pretends to be drunk and says, "I hear there's a lost frog? Is that true?" The crowd laughs. "Have you seen him?"

He joked in character with Cook while the audience were all on their feet. And for all of us, I'd say there was nowhere else we would have rather been.

Oh my gosh that sounds amazing! I'm really sad I missed out on this but it's just way too expensive for an unemployed college kid. NEXT YEAR!

WOW that sounds like an amazing day! And to have that Pirates presentation at the end, and then Jack himself, OMG how awesome is that?! I am so glad for all who got to go. I would love to be a part of that but not being local and trying to cut down on extra expenses, it just wasn't going to happen for me.

Um, why are we up in the middle of the night?

OMG Donna that is incredible! I am SO jealous! To not only get to see all the other talent but to see Johnny Depp alone would be amazing but IN character! That is great! What a chance of a lifetime!! And of course no cameras right? WOW! That is so neat! MAJORLY jealous!
