Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

I agree with Cheryl , I miss Dawn so much. I talk to her in my car. I miss the texts, emails & late night calls when Bob was out of town. It makes my heart sad that Miss Sally & Dawn won't be there. We had planned a slumber party one night of the trip for my birthday.

Capri~ I didn't know you liked Big Love! I love that show! I swear if I was still LDS, I would be a polygamist! Someone else to share the laundry, cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping with....Or a maid would work...:rotfl:

Katie~ I hope the baby starts feeling better.

Daisy Ouch!

Today is my first day off in 10 days, I work tomorrow. I am exhausted!

I skipped German class today.
But I did go and get my nursing program app, and scholarship apps. Now I just need to get letters of recomendation.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous morning.

I am off to A&P then going to Wenatchee to exchange Jordan's jeans.
He has to drop 7 pounds for a different wt class in wrestling. This whole wrestling thing is crazy.

Good Morning ladies!!! Hope you all have a good day! It's Hump Day. We are half way to Friday. YAY!!!

I woke up this morning to rain and cold weather and I am loving it!!!! :goodvibes

Stacie ~ I'm sorry to hear you are sick. Colds can be such a pain in the butt. Feel better soon sweetie.

Jane ~ That totally sucks you have to move again. But maybe it's a sign you need to move up this way. I can put you in touch with our management company. They are wonderful and in the time we've been here, we've never had a problem. (knock on wood!!!)
Keep us updated on Ty's appt. and I hope things work out for you to attend this trip.

Katie ~ Aww, a sick baby is just the worst. I hate that they cannot tell you how they are feeling. I'm glad she seems to be on the mend.

Kelly ~ Good luck with the taxes. EEK!

Daisy ~ OUCH!! Your poor tootsie! I hope the doc is able to tell you how to ease the pain. I broke my pinky toe awhile back and it was not fun.

Cheryl ~ I have no doubt that Dawn hears you and her spirit is still close to you. Thank you, to you, Heather and AmySue for working on a special memorial for her. I know it will mean a lot to so many in this group.

Capri ~ I have a pair of ratty old sneakers that I wear at Disneyland. It's the only place I wear them, but they do the trick. So we can look clunky and ugly together. :thumbsup2

Kerri ~ I am excited too!! I keep telling myself to calm down and stop wishing time away, but I cannot help it. I want it to be time to go already. lol

Tina ~ Airborne and Target brand zinc dissolve tabs work really well. Hope it doesn't get worse.

Deb ~ Enjoy your day off! You deserve it.

Carol ~ This is the sign I had last year. I usually bring poster putty to attach it to the door but I forgot it so I had to use tape, which was fine, but didn't look as nice. Keep in mind I am very uncreative, so all I did was print out some signs and glue them on a DIS lime green poster board. lol But at least it let people know what room we were in.

And this is one I made for a family Halloween trip back in '08.

Well, last night while trying to rearrange some stuff in the office a solid wood thing fell and nailed my middle toe on my left foot. It is just nasty looking!!! It still hurts and won't bend. It is starting to turn black/blue.

OUCH!! :scared:I do hope you are okay... I know that pain and I feel for you.. I hope that it's not broken

What kind of signs do you usually put on your doors? Do you just tape them on? Should we have some kind of DisBoard Divas logo on them? It sounds like fun. We will be in Bldg. 2 at HoJo. I imagine most of you are in Bldg. 1 Disney facing but it looks like there are a few Bldg. 2'ers. That is the building where the Meet and Greet is, right? I won't even have to go outside in my jammies to get to bed! What would you think about gathering room number information at the M&G so we can all get a list of where everyone is?

I too am curious about the door sign. We are in bldg 1 but not disney facing... We don't spend that much time in the room anyways and without my kids I didn't think the extra view was needed... :upsidedow

So are your door signs elaborate? Is anyone out there willing to send a pic to guide us newbies on the proper sign etiquette??

Well that will teach me to leave the computer in the middle of a post and not check it before submitting....

Great pics.. Thank you!!

I hope everyone with ailments mends quickly and feels better real soon.

Our door sign was lime green poster board cut into the shape of a giant Mickey Head. Breezy made it - I think it is really cute. We're bringing the same one.

Enjoy your day, Deb. :woohoo:

As for Dawn, I was reading posts last night and had to log off the computer because I started crying and didn't want to get even more depressed. I miss her a lot, too. :sad1:

I only ever wear my tennis shoes in DL and even then I am often limping by the end of the day but it is worth it to be at dl! I also make sure to take ibuprofin at regular intervals throughout the day so I stay on top of the pain!

SarahMay

Try Crocs! I have pink ones with Mickey holes and they are so comfy!

Jane - Thank you again for the CD last year. I have been listening to it on my drives into work everyday this past week. Is totally getting me in the mood. (Will say though that every time "Ladies Night" comes on, all I can think about is the scene in the wedding singer when Jon Lovitz sings it all smarmy.:scared1:)

I was just thinking on my way to work that I need to find my CD from last year. :thumbsup2

For the last few trips, I made lime green mickey heads on poster board which everyone could decorate as they wanted. First year they were supposed to be given out at check in, but not everyone got them. Last year we had them and decorating supplies at the Meet and greet. Some people came with pre-made ones, like Beth.

Even though I've had to cut my trip short, I'm so looking forward to the rest of this trip!

Hugs  to everyone who needs them. Whoo hoo for all the accomplishments. :cheer2:

And, Cheryl, you go on talking to Dawn! She hears you! I imagine she's up there giving God an earful about how she has to help! I have no doubt she'll be there for this trip!

Two years ago we had a similiar sign. I don't think we had one last year.

This year I bought a bright pink poster board and we are going to glue the pirate t-**** design on to it and put our names on it somehow. I need to go to HD to get some LGMH's. Well I actually want to get a bunch of colors to put all over the door.

I have started the door sign for us. I figured you would be busy with your trip and all. I love my cricut for this stuff. And if I have zebra and hot pink stuff left over I may ad it for my little wild side.

Our's was on our door when we checked in in 2008! :thumbsup2

Mine are very simple. I went and did a search and found an old thread of mine where I linked pics from some of the DISers designs from WDW. They are much more elaborate.

Here are the links if you want to check them out:
Hi all! I was just wondering if any of you going to DLR have decorated or plan to decorate your hotel room door or window?

I know this practice is pretty popular at WDW. We did it back when we stayed at Coronado Springs. It was fun! We had a lime green sign on our door with our DIS names, some Mickey heads from Home Depot, and some other decorations, and lots of Halloween stuff in our window including a battery operated flickering candle.
One night a lady pushing a baby stroller came up to me and said using our window as a reference point was the only way she could find her way back to her room. :rotfl: (CSR is quite large)

Anyway, I just wondered if this is something DL DISers do when staying at the Disneyland hotels or the surrounding hotels such as HoJo or some of the other more popular ones?

In case some of you are wondering what the heck I'm talking about, LOL, here are some links to some doors and windows from WDW DISers:

Well, you get the idea. So is this just a WDW thing? :confused3

Wow doing my search just now for those links, I found two of Dawn's posts from way back when she first signed on:

Just sort of threw me for a loop...... I'm glad she was able to make such an impact on so many lives if even for a short while. :grouphug:

Hey Michelle.

Ooooooooooooh, you guys are going all fancy like. I cannot wait to see!!! popcorn::

I found this on the DISigns section of the DIS and I like it a lot. I think I'll use this on one of the posters. ;) (It already had the words Disney Divas on it. Wonder if this was requested by one of our group??)

Hey Michelle.

Hey there Beth! And, I just have to say you are one of the truly sexiest ladies I've ever seen. Not just from how you look, but from the YOU that is so obvious, even in a casual pic! So no baggen on yourself, you hear!

I have to say, I'm finding it harder and harder to post on this thread. I have missed so much from not being able to post for so long, or only post haphazardly. I feel disconnected and worried that people are sitting back going "who is she" and "why the heck is she posting here"?! But, I do frequently read and try to keep up with many of you on FB. I do love this group and miss all of you!

Oh, I like that! I may have to copy you and use it do, if you don't mind.

Well, I ended up going to urgent care so that they could x-ray my toe. It is not broken!! Just really bruised. And because it broke the skin I had to get a tetnis shot. Well, hopefully it will be healed and ready to go in a few weeks.
I just took a Loratab for the pain, so if you see crazy posts later just have a good laugh!

Daisy-==did it hit your nail? I had a roast fall out of the freezer on my big toe several months ago--turned out after the initial pain and bruising, that it caused the nail to disconnect from the nail bed and now it won't re-attach!! Yikes!

It looks like it hit right behind the nail. I am not sure yet if it is going to affect the nail. I am really hoping not! But time will tell. That sounds so painful for you. Makes my toe hurt just thinking about it!

Thank you for the nice comments.
I'm sure it will be fine for you on the trip. And if you get behind the front page is always up to date.

In fact ladies, it was suggested we add the Flag Retreat Ceremony to Thursday after lunch but before the Meet and Greet, so everyone make note of that. :thumbsup2

Sure! Help yourself. It might be fun if we all used it in some way. So anyone else feel free to use it as well.

Glad it's not broken. Ouch on the shot though. Take care.

I remember that Cheryl.
Isn't that odd? I damaged my pinky fingernail once and now it always splits in that same location when it gets to a certain length. So weird.....
