Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Good evening ladies!
I'm officially done with my first days of school, I'm tired and I have a headache.

I had to walk to my dorm in the rain after math class :sad2: I didn't have a real jacket but a skimpy sweater but thankfully I was wearing my hightops so my feet didn't get wet :thumbsup2

I just ate dinner and plan on going to the gym tonight, probably around 7 or 8pm and I hope it doesn't rain anymore.

Sad thing is, I doubt it. I don't think anyone truly knows and understands their worth. Dawn was too busy worrying and caring about the rest of us to think about herself.

I often wonder what she dreamed about those last few days. I'm sure she dreamed of her children an grandchildren and family. But, I like to think that we were on her minds also. She was always so concerned about all of us. Love and light to her.

Well said.

Just popping in to say hello. I am sick and not happy about it. Just a cold, but a really bad cold. I feel icky! Hope all is well with everyone. Oh, and have I mentioned that I hate the rain?

I'm sorry you're not feeling well.
I'm sick and tired of this rain, too.

Today while shopping, I got a very basic black t-shirt for the pirate design. Actually, it's a mens shirt which came in a double pack. It was only $6 for the double pack, and my hubby could use the other shirt in the pack, which was grey. It's all I could afford, but I think I can make it cute. I have some sparkly fabric paint to bling it up a bit. :thumbsup2

I tried and tried to find some shoes to wear while on the trip that were not only comfy but cute too......nada. They all felt so uncomfortable. However, I was shopping at Walmart, so it's not like they carry the comfy/cute brands - LOL. I hate to always wear my big ol' tennis shoes on the ladies' trip because they look so clunky (and ugly), but they are the only shoes I have that I can walk around in all day at the parks without my feet hurting. I'll have to keep searching.

But regardless of my ugly shoes and basic mens t-shirt, I am SOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to this trip. I can hardly wait!!!! I'm ready to have some FUN! :yay:

Shoot, I still don't have any jammies to wear to the slumber party. I knew I forgot to get something today. That's what happens when you don't make a list. DOH! :headache:

Back to the store for me. :goodvibes

Hi everyone--Amy and I (with Heather's help) are working on something to remember Dawn.

And can I just say--I really really REALLY miss her and especially missed her today. I keep wanting to pick up the phone and talk to her--and she's not there. So I talk to her when I'm driving in the car and I just hope she can hear me.

I only ever wear my tennis shoes in DL and even then I am often limping by the end of the day but it is worth it to be at dl! I also make sure to take ibuprofin at regular intervals throughout the day so I stay on top of the pain!

Hey girls!

I was hoping to have some more clarity regarding the trip and my potential of going on it after today, but a lot is still up in the air. I think that I may be able to come but not stay the whole time and will need to make some cutbacks (such as no Napa Rose) but I am still waiting to see how a few things shake out. However, I have been buying things like a black hoodie and stuff to do a tie dye shirt, so obviously I still proceeding with the planning process.

Meanwhile yesterday we found out that we will be moving again in June/July as once again the owner of our current condo is in default and things are working their way towards foreclosure--deja vu. Luckily we are in a better place this time in terms of forewarning, having a lease through June 30th that must be honored by law, and quite frankly just not being in panic mode. But, I am SOOOO angry as we choose to rent from the management company based on an assurance by our rental agent that the unit was corporately owned and not privately owned, which has turned out to be the case. I am also appalled to have learned that while we have many rights afforded to us under laws that were passed in the last year, we are NOT able to break our current lease without penalty (which are quite significant and add up to several thousands of dollars owed and/or lost). It just seems ridiculous that while we have the right to stay until our lease is up that we don't have the right to break the lease regardless of the fact that the money we are paying isn't actually being used to pay the mortgage!

Anyway, for those of you who are on Facebook, please don't mention anything on my page as neither Dave or I have shared this situation with our families yet as it is going to be 5 months before we move and we don't want to stress our parents out (both moms are Type A worriers).

Oh and another update--after several phone calls and days of playing phone tag Ty has an appointment for evaluation through EIS. Granted it's not until March 23rd, which was the first available appt, and I have basically already been told that he will likely not qualify for services due to the fact that he is only showing slight speech delays and he has to be at least 50% delayed in one area or 25% in two or more areas to qualify under NV law. I have done two qualifying screenings over the phone and he scored borderline on both, so I do appreciate that we will at least be able to have him seen by a speech therapist and developmental specialist because they easily could have told me that we weren't even eligible for that. Hopefully they will be able to give us some tools and connect us to some resources to continue working with him ourselves.

Love and miss you all--you are all beautiful, strong women who don't give yourselves enough credit for the joy that you bring into my life and everyone else around you. I am proud to call you all my friends :cloud9:

Have you thought about Crocs? I have Mickey ones and wore them last trip. They felt wonderful all day long.

I hope everyone will put a sign on their hotel door. Just think , if anyone forgets anything all you need to do is go walking the halls in search of fellow Divas to borrow from !:woohoo:

Well, last night while trying to rearrange some stuff in the office a solid wood thing fell and nailed my middle toe on my left foot. It is just nasty looking!!! It still hurts and won't bend. It is starting to turn black/blue. I had some prescription pain meds from something else left that I took last night. I am going to call the doc in a few minutes to find out if I should go have it looked at. Have to get the kids to school and go have a meeting with Meghan's speech teacher at school. Well, I am off and going in lots of pain. Can't take another pill because I have to drive....luckily it is not my right foot. This so had better heal before the trip!!! Lots of walking to do.

Oh Daisy--that's awful! Best wishes that it is just a bad bruise and nothing worse :wizard::love:

Good morning and Happy Wednesday/Hump day all!

First of all before I forget I want to add too that I am SO glad that I got to see Dawn in October! I am glad that I got to see and "meet" her in person more than once esp because of some misunderstandings that those of you who were there know what I am talking about and I am SO glad we were able to talk and work things out and I am just SO sad that I don't get to see her again. I feel like things are so left undone! I was SO looking forward to seeing her again and I know others of you feel the same that she really was a BIG part of making the trip fun. All her little touches last year on the party and the scavy hunt really made a difference and her personality and smile really warmed up the room. I still can't even fathom that she won't be with us and it really makes me sad! But as they say she will always be with us in spirit and Cheryl you go right on talking to her because I DO believe that she hears you!! My grandma was my best friend in the world and she passed over 10 years ago and I STILL talk to her all the time. I love and miss her VERY much and whether or not she hears me I still talk to her and I believe that she hears! So keep it up! ;)

Capri I agree with Trudi. I wear my winter crocs, the ones with the fur, and they are SO comfy. I have several pairs and in the summer I wear the regular kind but I have to wear socks with them cuz my feat sweat and I get blisters but otherwise they are the most comfortable shoes I have found. Even more so than tennis shoes. And who cares what you wear. Like you I am packing on the poundage right now and all my stuff is going to be tight so I don't even know what the heck I am going to wear on my bottom half to go with my shirts and I am so disgusted about that but in the end we are going to have a GREAT time regardless! No one is going to care what you look like we are just glad you are there!!! :) I know I am!!!

Jane I am so sorry for all your troubles. Being in the real estate business I deal with this on a daily basis and mom has the lovely job of having to represent the bank and being the one to actually kick people out of their homes. A lot of which are tenants like yourselves. It is NOT a fun job let me tell you. You DO have rights though so take full advantage and I am really sorry this is happening to you AGAIN. ((hugs)) I am glad you might be able to come for at least part of the time though!!

Stacie and Daisy I hope you both feel better soon!

As for me mom told me my W2 FINALLY came in so I am going to go pick it up today and do my taxes! I am VERY anxious to see the outcome. We used to withhold quite a bit more so we had more on our checks but then it got too close a few times and ended up almost owing or owing and so I didn't want to mess with having to check mid year or try to figure it out and since Shane's checks are all over the board all year long we just claim 0. It REALLY sucks cuz we could MAJORLY use that money during the year and I HATE to let the gov have my money all year BUT it is sure nice to get a big refund. However this year we lose Lynn on the child tax credit which is 1000 right there and then CA changed it's laws this past year big time so I may not get a refund at all and may actually OWE even though we both withhold the max amount which don't EVEN get me started. I think that is total BS how you can have EVERY cent withheld from your checks and STILL owe! But I guess I will find out today.

I don't anticipate anything from the state and I am thinking I am going to get prob at least 1000 less from the feds but we shall see. We made about 15000 less than last year so who knows. I will be VERY interested to see how it all works out in the wash. Next year will be EVEN less because we won't even have Lynn as a dependant. This is the last year I will even be able to claim her as THAT. I sure wish we owned a house! Oh well so be it. All of our refund is going to bills anyway but I will be very interested to see what it is.

Then mom and I are hopefully FINALLY going to the phone store. She wants to get a new phone and when I called to pay the fee to disconnect Lynn's line he told me if I could get someone to take over her line they would waive the fee so I might be able to work it for her to switch it to her line if she gets a phone so that would def help esp considering we got our bill for swim team. I swear it is never ending! We also are going to have to pay for next year's soccer in March too. Sheesh.

Anywho we still have no Awana tonight but they SAY they are going to try to start it back up next month so we shall see. I sure hope so for the girl's sake cuz it is really a good thing for them!! Then this weekend we have another basketball game and HOPEFULLY will finally make it back to church.

Then next weekend is superbowl so that should be fun and the following weekend is our anniversary and the start to the girls week off school so I am excited to spend some time with them since we didn't get to do a whole lot over christmas break. I am really hoping the weather clears up a bit and our finances are better and that we can do a few fun things. :) And then before you know it, it will be time for the trip!!! YAY!!!

Anyway hope everyone has a good day today and take care and talk soon!

Good morning everyone. I've been MIA the last couple days. The baby has been really sick. She has been vomiting for the last couple days & last night she was finally able to keep down some pedialyte. I had made a doctors appointment for today, but now she seems fine. I just fed her some applesause & bananas and so far she seems fine :thumbsup2.

I missed a lot but I did want to send Callie hugs & prayers for her mom .

I wanted to give Beth hugs because I know exactly how you're feeling .

Jane I hope everything works out with moving, it can be stressful to move even if you have plenty of notice. I hope you can make it at least for a couple days of the trip :thumbsup2.

 to everyone else & I hope everyone has a great day :flower3:.

What kind of signs do you usually put on your doors? Do you just tape them on? Should we have some kind of DisBoard Divas logo on them? It sounds like fun. We will be in Bldg. 2 at HoJo. I imagine most of you are in Bldg. 1 Disney facing but it looks like there are a few Bldg. 2'ers. That is the building where the Meet and Greet is, right? I won't even have to go outside in my jammies to get to bed! What would you think about gathering room number information at the M&G so we can all get a list of where everyone is?

I would love to stay at DCA but this is not the trip for it. As many of you are doing, going without the family seem like a splurge and I need to keep the cost down to justify it. So far, justifying factors for me include (1) it's my birthday (2) I upgraded my ticket from our December trip to AP with reward points from my VISA (3) smokin' deal on HoJo room (4) I am only staying 3 nights instead of the whole time (5) bringing a friend to share the cost (6) still have 200 bonus reward points to spend plus a $25 gift card from my boss (7) I just won $100 from Safety Bingo at work (8) I will get extra money for doing the 1099s for the company I used to work for (9) I DESERVE IT! We all deserve it! We work hard for our families and don't need to feel bad for taking a few days for some fun for ourselves! So no more guilt trips ladies! :goodvibes

 to everyone who is sick and has sick babies.

Daisy - That sucks. Hope you get into the doc's quick and it's a speedy recovery. Just know though that a lot of us will be there early if you need to reserve a ECV. ;)

How do you guys know which building you are in? Are you just in Bldg 2 unless you request Bldg 1, Disney facing?

I can see if I can leave a little room on the phone list for people to add room numbers if people think that's a good idea... Let me know.

Can I just say that I am too excited for this trip? Erin sent me her flight info this past weekend & the countdown on my calendar has begun!!!

Jane - Thank you again for the CD last year. I have been listening to it on my drives into work everyday this past week. Is totally getting me in the mood. (Will say though that every time "Ladies Night" comes on, all I can think about is the scene in the wedding singer when Jon Lovitz sings it all smarmy.:scared1:)

I'm glad your baby girl is feeling better, KAtie!

Good morning ladies! I work up with a heaviness in my chest a a bit of a sore throat, and I'm not happy about it. I'm just going to take an airborn and a hot shower and power thru the next two days.
