:lmao: Well, if you are your own boss, then just give yourself permission to leave early. :cool1:

Sigh--wish I could. But the ultimate "bosses" (i.e., clients) keep calling . . . .

My sig picture was inspired by your avatar. :goodvibes I thought you'd appreciate it. Take a mental picture of it and take it with you to the dentist tomorrow so you can project yourself there. ;)

And for more of the Cricket saga (in case anyone is interested) . . .

I talked with Kendall's agility teacher late last night who had made some amazing and miraculous connections and actually located Cricket's breeder! We found out that Cricket's litter-mate runs agility and we will get to talk with the handler/owner tomorrow. I've already emailed the breeder and have found out that Cricket was groomed for a year to be a show dog, then she was sold and kept for 5 months where she may have been abused by the man in the house.

She obviously has a lot to overcome, but we are encouraged at her potential and the possibility of learning more about her history. In the meantime we are showering her with love and affection and trying our best to make her feel confident and secure here with us.

Ok, I gotta get off the puter. I'll try to catch up more later.

Oh Callie--I hope it turns out ok with Cricket! There is hope . . . . . I think dogs are more resilient about learning to trust than cats--my younger cat is your typical scaredy-cat--if I sneeze he runs under the bed! I'm sure he'll be AWOL this whole weekend when Stacie/Allyson/Wendy are there. On the other hand, the other one will be out sauntering around, trying to jump on Stacie's lap (because she's allergic) with a look on his face of "why are you here and what's in it for ME??????"

oh gosh girls--I don't wanna work today! :beach:

Me neither! I'm my own boss too, so I can't really hide or go home :sad2:

Wow, am I the only one not off doing something fun this weekend??? :sad2:
Seems like lots of you have fun plans. I was supposed to have fun plans with Jane and Amy, and because of me we had to cancel. :guilty:

Well, don't mind me.

I'm not jealous of any of you.

Not at all.

Not in the least.

Really I'm not.

:rotfl:

I am doing absolutely NOTHING fun this weekend at all. In fact, I will be working so that I can make extra cash for a certain upcoming trip..... But I will not sulk or pout - at least that I'll admit to :rolleyes1

I'm not my own boss, but can I leave early?

Yes, I think that's a fab idea :thumbsup2

I will!! That will be my happy place. :goodvibes
Thanks for updating us on Cricket. It sounds like a lot of work, but it also sounds promising. Good luck!

Unplug the phone.

Nuh uh! I cried every minute of the Girls' Trip last April until you showed up. Just ask JustEllen! ;)
:rotfl2: Yeah right. If you were crying over anything it was the crowds and how hot it was. :p

Hey, here's two for drive by girl!! :moped: :drive:

:thumbsup2

I have a day off! WooHoo! :cheer2:

I am trying to decide what to do for my children's b-days (Jan 29th and Feb 1st) We are moving on the 2nd, and the house is tore up. They are too little for Chuck E Cheese or anything like that. They love the zoo here in Tucson, and I'm thinking of taking them to the Zoo in Phoenix in order to do something special. We can do cake when we get home. (I have to get pics of Nolan digging into his first cake!) We don't have any family here in AZ so it will just be us chickens.

Not much else new. I hope everyone has a great day. Talk to you all later.

Oh, and I hope those going this weekend have a magical time! pixiedust:

I went to the Phoenix Zoo on Sunday for the first time. I loved it! I'm kinda in to zoos and I think it the best one I've been to. My yearly pass to the Los angeles Zoo saved me 50% at the Phoenix Zoo. The Monkey Village is really neat.

Extra cash?? :hyper:
Whoo hoo! Dole Whips are on Theresa everyone! :cool1:

Actually I'm going to have so many teeth missing by then, Dole Whips might be all I can have!! :rotfl2:

We used to have passes to the L.A. Zoo. Since we lived in Burbank it wasn't far at all. Just hopped on the freeway and we were there. The kids loved it and it was a nice way to pass a weekend afternoon.
I haven't been back for about 4-5 years though so I'm sure they've made lots of changes.

Just a quick drive by between meetings...

Wendy, feel free to leave anytime you want, I'm sure your boss won't mind. Afterall, how can they keep you away from the happiest place on earth?

Beth, you WILL be going on the trip. If Amy and I have to show up at your house at 5 am and drag you out of bed and all you have to wear all weekend is your pajamas, you WILL be going!

Have a great long weekend everyone! I was supposed to have 3 days off, but one of the student groups I advise changed their retreat from today to Sunday. And, since Amy, Beth and I rescheduled for Feb. 1st, I have no good excuse not to go... but it should be okay. We are having lunch at Claimjumpers (do they have this restaurant outside of Nevada?) and then talking about the upcoming year/planning their events. It should only last a few hours and I get a free lunch out of it, so it's not too, too bad.

Meanwhile, things here in the state of NV are not so good:sad1:... Our governor gave his State of The State address last night and called for all state employees (which includes both my husband and me) to take a 6% pay cut AND he wants to cut higher education funding by $435 million:scared: ! To put that into perspective, that's more than 50% of what the state gives to the 8 community colleges and universities that make up all the higher education venues for the entire state. So, things are obviously a little tense around campus today. However, nothing is finalized yet and our legislators are vowing to fight on our behalf. But, it's going to be a very interesting time to watch and wait to see what our fate will be.:guilty:

I NEED a trip to my happy place... March, hurry up and get here soon!

Hmmm, well, doing Disneyland in my pj's does sound appealing and very comfy!! I might get some odd looks though. I know! I can push one of you in a stroller and then we might even get our own thread here on the DIS. :thumbsup2

I love Claim Jumpers! I know they are in CA too, that's where we first tried it. Enjoy your lunch there.

I didn't watch the State of the State address, but I do know things are bad here. It's just so depressing. I hope it doesn't end up affecting you.

OK, I'm taking all of your advice! I'm sneaking out early! I should be on my way by noon. :hyper: :wave2:

I will be very close to DL tomorrow. DBF and I and a bunch of our other friends will be at Angeles Stadium (just a little bit down Katella) for the Supercross. I wish I had an Annual Pass, I'd stop by for a bit in the morning. The races start at 7:00pm but we always get there early to BBQ and hang out in the parking lot before hand.

Oh now see. Another person doing something fun!!

:p

Mmmmm, BBQ! Enjoy!

I so wanted to go to DLR this week but has been a terrible week :sad1: My kitty has been at the vets since Tuesday, I am hoping he will get to come home today (if he pees on his own we get to take him tonight!).

Then on wednesday the fridge dies. I am so mad the stupid thing is only like 6years old it should not have died. It was almost as much to fix (and they would have had it for a week), as to replace so we ordered a new one. They were supposed to call and set up a delivery, well they did at 8:30 this morning I get a call they will be here in 10-15 minutes. Mind you all the food is still in the damn thing UGH!

So the new fridge is in :cheer2: But I still can't get the smell of the bad food out of my nose and now food just sounds disgusting!!! I know I need to eat, but even walking into the kitchen turns me off cause I think I can smell the old food (which is impossible). It's been a long week. I swear I AM GOING TO DLR NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a mental holiday and some Disney pinapple spears and a cookie boat! :rotfl2:

Well, if you're not doing anything on Sunday a bunch of us are meeting up . . . . .

I might try that. I was trying to talk DH into doing the Doo Dah parade with me and a bunch of people from the Renaissance Faire, but I might need Disney more!

Just a quick :drive: by to say :wave2:
