Have you heard the news, now 3rd hand smoke kills. What the heck is 3rd hand smoke?
Oh, hey ladies, all this talk about renting is getting to me. Didn't I tell you I was in Real Estate? You're making me want to get out my sales skills and demonstrate the pros and cons and show you the way to make home ownership affordable, profitable and pleasurable

But, I won't, because A: I don't sell anymore, and B: I'm tired! But I will say this, real estate has been the absolute best investment that we have ever made, and we have not always been in the right place at the right time. Okay, Good Night!
3rd hand is all the chemicals from the smoke that hang around on hair, skin, and clothing that can still make people sick. Picture, if you will, sitting in class on a rainy day, when a smoker comes in and sits next to you, with the aroma of wet cigarette smoke emanating. That smell is chemicals, and those chemicals make people sick.
I had a friend who worked at Intel making chips, and if they smoked they had to shower and change into completely different clothes before they got into the clean room, because the 3rd hand could harm the chips. No perfume, either.
For each person who is absolutely over the moon about their house I have another story of doom and gloom from a house. And almost no one I know is over the moon about their house, they are always complaining!
And it isn't an investment until ya sell it or have it allllll paid off (and are living for free, well, except for maintenance and taxes), IMO. Like my MIL, she has gold and jewels, and ahs always said that buying good jewelry is an investment, but now she's in a right pickle and broke with debts (after losing two homes through no fault of her own) and she REFUSES to sell them b/c she wants to pass them down to her daughter and sons. Who will promptly sell them.
If it's not obvious, I'm not in the best of moods today!!!!!
re: cake. I think I've read that there's no way to pick 'em up from anywhere but a restaurant, and I'm not sure it's just any restaurant.
I know it's fun to get a disney cake, but seeing what they did with that awful Dreams cake I'm not sure I'd trust them to make one that's actually good. And Von's has a bakery, and at the very least has their enormous Colossal Cake (it looks like the slabs of cake from Golden HOrseshoe, but for 1/2 or even a 1/3 of the cost per slice) that one could buy and put everyone into a chocolate coma with.... Or a decorated cake that I can never buy b/c of hubby and son's stuff. Or even Costco, I liked their sheet cake I had at a baby shower (but not my own, nope, all wishes were gone against at my own baby shower...sigh).
Again, I'm not in a good mood! Harumph!
