Now that La Senz Girls is closing all their stores, where are good places to buy clothes for girls 8-10, in Ontario and also the states.?

Please Mum, I don't like the clothes, no matter how big I buy them, they shrink and are too small within a month.

Children's Place, the clothes are either too casual or too dressy.

What is everyone's favorite store?

I have always liked the clothes from Children's Place and Pease Mum. We liked Gymboree too, but now it is a bit too "young" for us. It is too bad about La Senza Girl. I know my daughter (10) has started to like the tops at Aeropostale. We LOVED "Justice" in the USA. They have a nice one in the Walden Galleria Mall. Very similar to Las Senza Girl but way more selection. If you are in the USA at all you should check them out! I see moms in the dis family ond budget boards mentioning this store a lot as well.

My daughter just turned 13 but is still on the small side so shopping for her can be difficult. We try Old Navy and the Gap Kids. She's just starting to fit some of the tops at American Eagle (x-small, and no v-necks, too revealing). She had kind of out grown La Senza Gilrls, but would get her underwear there. I was told that was all they would be carrying for girls her age. It was hard when Jacob Jr. closed now with La Senza Girls closing it is harder still.

Siblings is very similar to La Senza Girl . ( quality is not the same though)

H and M has some cute stuff too.

I didn't know that they were closing. I saw that one store was closing but one sign said end of lease. Another store seemed to have less but still have girls clothes.

My dd is 14 and 5'4". She is slim and we have bought her jeans (the few non low rise that we could find) from La Senza.

I found in the last few years that the variety was smaller. It seemed everything looked alike.

Too bad though.

H & M has Nice trendy clothes for kids. We do like Old Navy though... reasonable, stylish and comfortable... can't lose.

I really like the quality of Osh Kosh clothes for my 8 year old daughter, and you can get some good deals at the outlets in the USA.

We don't live in Ontario, but the stores are the same on either coasts. My 10 and 14 year old DDs love these places:

H&M
Aeropostale
American Eagle
Old Navy (for basics)
JC Penny (for jeans)
Justice (just for DD10)
Garage (mostly for DD14)
Forever 21 (for DD14)
SportChek (for athletic/active wear)

Sad, but true...I think by 8 or 9 years old, the girls no longer want to go to Please Mum, Gymboree and Children's Place.

Our LaSenza store closed today and now I will have to find stores that carry dressy clothes. For casual clothes, I buy tops for my dd who is 9 at Old Navy, Aerospostale, American Eagle, Hollister and sometimes Garage and her jeans at Old Navy or Gapkids. But when she wanted dressy clothes we always went to LaSenza Girl. She finds the clothes at Childrens Place to dressy and sparkly. When we go to the US, we always go to Justice Stores.
We are missing LaSenza Girl already.

Gymboree! My kids DS2 and DD6, are outfitted from top to bottom. Their quality is the best. I only occasionally shop at Osh Kosh and Tommy Hilfiger and that it is. Most everything out there is horrible quality and yucky designs.

Gymboree always has sales - I get 20.00 shirts for 4.00, 40.00 jeans for 12.00, etc. I am a regular and they know us very well, so they hold stuff for me and I basically have my own personal shoppers as well - LOL!

Good luck as I find kids' clothes today are really horrible quality, Tiger :)

I agree with all the stores mentioned....my DD is almost 11 but very skinny. We buy jeans at either Old Navy or Siblings. Tops mainly from Aeropostale and Silings. Sometimes I can find tops and hoodies for her at the Garage. I find Justice in the states way to expensive. Their jeans are $40-$50. However, they do have a large selection. When we shop in the states it's usually at Kohl's. Also the Aeropostale has far better sales than we have here. I just bought a zip up sweater that was regular $44.50 for $12.99.

She didn't totally love LaSenza Girl but we did find things there for her from time to time. In particular athletic wear and summer things. She was really upset about Jacob Jr. closing. They closed shortly after she started fitting into their stuff.

My dd is turning 10 and I buy her clothes mainly from: Old Navy, Tommy Hilfiger outlet (they have these all over the place now, way cheaper than regular Tommy but still good quality), Siblings, and The Children's Place. She doesn't like a lot of TCP styles but the jeans fit well and last, and always have adjustable waist. I find Siblings jeans seem to be a slimmer cut which works well for dd. I will buy from The Gap, if it's on sale, but I find them really, really pricey for what they are.

I do not shop at Gymboree for dd anymore because their styles are very 'young'. I did when she was younger.

In the US, Justice is dd's very favourite store. It is quite pricey, though, so you have to watch for sales. And, I don't know why, but US Old Navy always has way more selection than the Canadian ones. I bought both of my kids a ton of stuff from there for Christmas and never saw 90% of it in the Canadian stores, and what I did see was much more expensive here.

I only shop for my son in the US, the prices here are completely NUTS compared to the US. OshKosh & the Gap is where I usually hit, I don't mind Old Navy either, but the stuff from OshKosh really fits my son well & holds up.

IF you have a Zara near you they have great things for girls and boys. Baby to 14.

We used to love Limited Too in the States. We bought most of my daughter's clothes there but since they changed their stores to the Justice line we don't go there anymore. The clothes are cheaper but the quality and many styles are too busy for our taste.

The Children's Place too busy, colorful and young for my 11 year old.

H & M has some jeans that are good because they are made slimmer for her waist but I think that their younger line is nicer than the tween line.

Gap Kids has gone down hill in quality and styles IMO. Same with Mexx Kids. Used to love that store but it's very blah now.

If you live near Toronto there are some very trendy tween stores on Eglington with amazing designs but bring lots of money. Great though if you are looking for a dress for a dress up occassion that looks awesome and not frilly little girl stuff.

Le Chateau used to have a really cool tween line but it didn't last.

I thought is was my imagination...the Old Navy stores here have very little in the girls department these days. They still have lots in the baby/littlegirls. The store that I go to the most often has reversed the girls section with the baby section. The girls section is now half the size that it was before but they do add a few things in the centre asile.

I'll definitely check out the US stores next time I'm over. I never went in there because I have a rule about only buying what I can't get a home....or else it has to be an amazing deal :rolleyes1

She was really upset about Jacob Jr. closing. They closed shortly after she started fitting into their stuff.

Same as my DD10 -- really upset that Jacob Jr. closed just as she was starting to fit their stuff. This used to be her "go-to" place to spend her allowance money, for me to buy her stuff or to buy gift cards for her friends.

My daughter was upset that Jacob Jr. closed as well. She is also very slim and she fit their clothes and it was great because she could wear clothes that were similar to what her older sisters were wearing. I could always find something for her there. I'm kind of glad that she is starting to fit into other stores now, it increases our choices for her. And I agree, Old Navy has very little selection for girls now. Lots for boys or younger girls but nothing for girls who are a little older. It makes it so hard. I'm going to have her try jeans on at Garage because they have 0, which look like they might fit.

American Eagle also has jeans for size 0, with short, regular, or long options. We've bought jeans there for my older DD. A bit pricey at $50+ but necessary at the time since we didn't have any plans to visit the U.S. to buy them at JC Penny.

When we make a trip to the U.S., we go to JC Penny, which has a great style selection of jeans (Arizona, which is JC Penny's own label) and sizes for Juniors and Girls. It's also super cheap if you run into a sale. I've gotten $9.99 jeans or buy the 2nd pair for $1. For Juniors, they start at size 0 and also have different length options: short, regular, and long. For Girls, they have slim, regular and plus fittings, and many styles (i.e., flare, boot cut, skinny, etc.).

We seem to do best with Gap. In the US we always make a stop at Justice - very similar to La Senza Girl.

Thanks for the stores in the states, we are heading there in March so I think I will doing some shopping and see what I can find.

Not a lot of options for Canada though. Luckily only one is a fashion diva, the oldest does not care what she wears, boys clothes are actually better in her mind. My girls do not wear jeans at all, so it is hard to find something that is nice enough for even school here.
