Okay, I've been reading some of the threads on Homecoming and school dances and the like, and it occurred to me that never once, in my entire high school career, did a boy ever ask me to a dance. I was always the one asking them. That's 4 Homecomings, 2 Sadie Hawkins (which I admit don't count), 1 senior auction (also doesn't count), and 1 prom and every time had me asking the guy. The closest I ever came to getting a real request was when I said to my then boyfriend, "Hey, are you gonna ask me to Homecoming or what?" Apparently, he had thought I wasn't into the 'dance' scene. Hello! It's Homecoming! Everybody does Homecoming.
It's was enough to give a girl a complex. I wasn't hideous or anything. Fast forward several years and I was the one taking the initiative in my relationship with DH as well.
So I was wondering, any other females out there always play the man in their relationships?

I guess because I always considered myself to be a strong, independent, and outspoken woman.
