no many bargains to be had in millenia mall apart from l'occitane shop,i
I found that Bloomingdale's and Macy's were cheap. Bought some Aramis labs stuff at half price for twice the size bottle (so that's 25% all in), and 4 pairs of Dockers for $120.

oooh, Great thread, anyone know how much Sketchers (trainers) retail for in the US. I just bought some in the UK and they cost £40.00. I need another pair, so I was going to wait.

Also can anyone give prices on prescriptivies face cream etc. Love this stuff, but it is very expensive over here.

Hi Heather belle, am Skechers mad in florida, bought 2 pairs for me £80 each in jjb, $80 each in macys, bought 2 pairs for my son £37 each in jjb, $30 each in macys, and bought 2 pairs of flipflops for my mum, £29 each in jjb, $25 each in macys and the whole lot came to... wait for it... $110 plus tax, amazing bargains or what!!!

Where do I start?
In March they had Sketchers buy one get one half price - can't remember where it was, possibly Festival mall? (School shoes for elder son - can't remember the price $20?) Otherwise tended to find trainers not really cheaper than in the UK (I'm talking factory outlets or online at M and M Sport, not normal retail).

Duty free was great for Estee Lauder and Clinique - when I got home I noticed the make-up and skincare is DUTY PAID so it comes off your DP allowance not your DF one! I bought a lovely Pleasures pack of a BIG EDP plus body lotion for $52 - last time DH bought me just the perfume from duty free (couple of years ago) it was £40. :cheer2:

Check out London Fog at Belz (the designer mall bit) -- fantastic for reversible raincoats (lovely colours) - in fact all sorts of great summer rainwear etc. - wish I'd bought more :bitelip: BASS in Premium Outlets was great for t-shirts in loads of styles and colours, lovely linen shirts, skirts etc., plus shoes - oh, and mens stuff too. Check out the Premium Outlets website ( www.premiumoutlets.com ) and register as a VIP to get the discount voucher book free (normally $5) PLUS there's all sorts of other great offers to download (like I got extra 40% off in Bass - 5 blouses for work, pair of moccasins plus couple of tops for DH total $80). Nautica is good for mens and boys stuff (keep them happy!). And CK is great for the undies - priced less in $ than we'd pay in £ in John Lewis :cloud9:
My sister got loads in Osh Kosh and Gap at Belz, but we never got that far. We did find lovely big snuggly beach towels in Ralph Lauren - 2 for $25 (bargain!)
You can get loads of cheap cases to put your bargains in, but think whether they'll get home - we bought a Samsonite with locks as well as combination (so we could lock it on the way home) and it was about the same price as in the January sales over here.
Plain t-shirts for blokes can't beat Fruit of the Loom in Walmart for $4 each - loads of colours. The undies and socks from FOTL also good (but note: boys can only seem to get y-fronts.) Didn't get much of a look round Super Target but did buy nice sandals for younger son for $12. Also got him school shoes in Striderite for $20 - wide fitting available!

Awwwwww - let me come with you I want to do some more shopping! :hyper2:

When we go in September I'm on the look out for a couple of bling bling lookalike watches - I got one for my birthday last year in Next for forty pounds - and I hoping to get another two this year.

I'm also getting a few pairs of jeans for my 12 yr neice, she's a funny size and we can't seem to get any here that fit properly. Timberlands and trainers are a must.

thanks for the info on the Sketchers. Only 21 days to go. Mustn't spend any money money here, sounds like I'm gonna need it when I get there.

Only trouble is, I now have to find time in my plan for shopping. :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Thanks Claire, this thread is just what I wanted as I too am going in a few weeks. :Pinkbounc I am reading all the tips with great interest.

No one has yet mentioned Clarins, is it available over there and is it any cheaper?

Ali

Clarins isn't a lot cheaper if at all - Clinique is definitely the way to go - it's half price or less. A lot of the other high end brands like Dior can even work out a little more expensive.

Kenneth Cole watches and bags etc are a lot cheaper, you should pay about half UK prices. Would echo the Gap and Old Navy recommendations - especially for chidren's clothes. Nine West shoes and bags also a good buy as well as gym clothes and trainers.

Work on the basis that if you love it, buy it because it will almost certainly be a bargain!

thanks krisieuk, unfortunately for my bank balance, i already work on the principle, if you love it buy it, thats why I never have any money left! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Can't remember if yu have kids, but Osh Kosh is very cheap - and they do adults as well (my sister got a skort she was well chuffed with! :Pinkbounc )

Yes, I had the "lets not buy anything until we're there" - but it depends when you cn work in the shopping bit! If I'd made my boys wait one more day before visiting a park because of shopping I would have been on my own!! :rotfl:

Also, u can get coupons out of leaflets at most hotels and restaurants and if you hand them in at the mall's information desk's they exchange them for money off vouchers...i remember this worked out really well for us at the premium outlet, saved around $100!

By the way, Belz is apparently closing this month - just so yu don't factor in a day there :sad2:

thanks mazdauk, will have to spend the extra time at premium outlets instead, what a shame! :flower:

:wave2: Hi Mazdauk,

Is belz closing for good or just for refurbishment.

Thanks maureen4200040
