no. they had already reached popularity amongst all college students by the time i came onto the scene. i am familiar with a few other bands out of the athens area, though.

i doubt 20 year olds would know anything about Paradise Theater, David Bowie... or heck... even NIN.


I touched Eddie Vedder on my 21st birthday at Lollapalooza in Atlanta. Those were the days that Lollapalooza actually toured. His bare-nekkid chest, mind you. He had his flannel wrapped around the waist of his torn jeans.

That style is making it's way back in again, I've noticed.. along with long hair on boys. heehee

Ah, Lollapalooza...I was at the St. Louis shows on the first and second tours. I still can't believe the lineups they had then. That was insane.

I also wish I remembered a little more of the shows, but that's neither here nor there.

Rick Springfield's wife is from my town so he is here around holidays. I've hung out with the guys from REO and Journey while they were in town before too. I didn't know it was them though.

Well, I don't want to give Wall-E1 a heart attach because I know Leif Erickson is a crush - but I saw Leif in person at the MN State Fair AND also saw Air Supply and was invited to party in their room!!!! Was I cool or what?

Wasn't it awesome?? The amount of good bands that I added to my list just from one day of shows is crazy. Jane's Addistion, Ministry, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, The Chili Peppers... !!! Ice T! LOL I only went to three Lollapaloozas.


Edit: OH and Soundgarden! It's the only time I ever got to see them.

And I am not embarrassed to say that the first concert I ever went to was John Denver. My dates? My dad and my best friend. Heavenly memories
