I just go my DS4 a reservation for the Pirates' Cruise leaving from the GF. I was planning getting my wife a spa session for this block of time. This leaves me to entertain my DD2; does anyone have suggestions that might make a 2 year old happy for a short time? Is there something close to the GF?

What about going down to the GF beach and letting her play in the sand? :)

You could take her to the character breakfast at the Grand Floridian with Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland & Mad Hatter... http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_19b.htm

1900 Park Fare
Supercalifragilistic Breakfast

Or Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary, just take the monorail.

Happy planning! And what a nice thing to do for your wife! ;)

2 years old should be easy! :)

An hour bike rental along the path of the lake (if they have it at GF). Play at the beach (like someone earlier suggested). Ride around the monorail several times. Take a boat to MK back and forth couple times.

I'm not sure how well it would work with a 2 yr. old, but I believe there is also an afternoon tea for girls at the GF. She may really enjoy being with the other girls.

First of all , gotta say, what a nice thing to do for your wife. We just did this not more than 3 weeks ago. Sent DS on the Pirate Cruise and had to entertain DD who is 2 for the time he was gone. We were going to go over to the MK, but instead had breakfast at the GF, since they feed them on the Pirate Cruise, looked in the shops, and walked around the resort. The time did pass rather quickly.

This is exactly what I did with my 2 year old last week. She loved seeing Pooh, Tigger, and Alice while her sisters were busy. We had a great time, and she had some alone time with me...just walking around the GF in the big shop on the 2nd floor took up some time for us also.

Here are some quick and easy ideas:

1. Ride the monorail all the way around and then the loop to Epcot.

2. Ride in the front car of the monorail

3. Go over to Chef Mickeys and even if you don't eat you can still see the characters that are out near the entrance.

Two years old is still too young for Alice's Tea Party. BTW, my son actually prefers the tea party to the pirate cruise, and he's a rough and tumble little boy--nothing feminine about him ;)

I bet she'd love the toy store in GF's lobby shop area. The Contemporary also has a lot of great shops. The water play area near GFs waterfall pool is also fun for little ones, or else the character breakfast is a great idea :flower:

If you accompany your wife to the spa, or go to meet her afterward, it is right next to the wedding pavilion. When my mother and I went for our spa treatments there must have been a wedding because the coach and white horses and footmen all dressed up were parked right there. Very cool! (Probably lost on a 2 year old!)

If your wife is going to the spa, you can park in the spa parking lot (which isn't marked -- go into the Wedding Pavilion entrance, right before the main GF entrance.) You can also valet at the GF, but she might as well park close and you guys can walk over.
