We just returned from a fabulous stay at Ginn Reunion. I was hestitant to book as the last and only time we rented a house we missed the resort feel. This place has it all and we took full advantage of all the amenities. We stayed in a 3 br condo overlooking a pool that was completely our own the entire time. The resort has many pools scatterd and there is a waterpark that rivals Storm a long bay. The kids did not want to leave. DH golfed, I went to the spa, the kids went to the kids club and a dive in movie. Every night at 9pm the rooftop is perfect for fireworks viewing. The "grande" has a rooftop pool and wonderful service.

I think we have found our "spot". I really wanted to like Windsor Hills a few years back when we stayed there, but it was too much like home. Onsite has just lost its allure and with a family of 5 not always cost effective. Many offsite resorts that we like are just hotel rooms and again too small. We do not like the cramped feelin. Ginn reunion meets all our needs and then some. I highly reccomend.:thumbsup2

Thank you for the review. I check ont this place on trip advisor and everyone loved it there too. We need a lot of room and we are tired of staying onsite but my hubby wants a resort feel. This place sounds perfect. We usually stay at the Vistana Villages but I may give this place a shot in the future. Iam am glad you had a great time.
Thanks,
Tara

Do the villas at Ginn have washers and dryers? I couldn't find anything about laundry facilities on their website. I'm making a list of places we might stay for our next trip and one of my "must-haves" is a washer/dryer.

Thanks!

How do you rent there? From owners, or does it have an office that you rent directly from?

Where is this resort located?/

Do you have a link?

Hi Momtomootoo :)

Glad to hear you had such a great time :goodvibes

Looking forward to our stay there too.

The resort is located in Champions Gate......I have a great private villa booked for next Feb. .

What an awesome looking resort! Would you share what rate you paid and if you booked direct with them???? Thanks!

......these are the people we are using - awsome looking places (we have booked the one with the private pool shown,... but if you explore their site you will see they also have a nice townhouse for rent) ;

Hey, MOMTOMOOTOO - so glad you enjoyed it :goodvibes . As you know, we're booked for our fourth stay in January and I can't wait.

I wrote a Trip Advisor review after our first visit in 2006 and it just keeps getting better and better. The addition of the Reunion Grande has added much needed eating options, although we still enjoy the Clubhouse. Building is well underway west of the I-4 and it shouldn't be too much longer before the driving range and Clubhouse to support the Nicklaus course are open (those facilities already exist on the east side to support the Watson and Palmer courses). If all the planned development comes to fruition (a town center with shops and restaurants is promised) it'll be even more spectacular.

The pedant in me feels compelled to point out that it's not actually in Championsgate. This isn't a sub-division like most rental communities, it's an area in its own right. It's the town of Reunion, so kind of like Celebration. It was intended to be a residential resort community rather than a vacation destination, but for most owners the properties are investments or second homes.

I live in Reunion andcould not reccomend it enough! Lots to do and see and very well maintained and close to everything.

I've stayed at Reunion. Make sure you are clear what facilities you have access to if you rent directly from an owner. Here's a site I recently got quotes from, you can contact owners directly:

You might get more info on the Wyndham Vacation Resorts site. Wyndham recently negotiated a rather complicated agreement with Reunion to manage the resort and apparently sell their unsold inventory.

On the Wyndham site, it says the 3 BRs DO have washer and dryer (but no jacuzzi tub).

The only size villas we have access to are 3 BRs, which were built in 2004, have 1530 sq ft of space, 3 full bathrooms, and a K,K, 2 doubles, Queen sleeper bed configuration. Sleeps 10, 8 with privacy. (There may be other options at Reunion that Wyndham owners do not have access to.)

I was a little surprised by both the sq footage (not huge) and the points cost...which is actually less than Bonnet Creek. But it looks like a very nice resort and we'll probably try it.

Yes there are kinds of complications in the Wyndham agreement with Reunion. There's limits at present on how much access to the major facilities like the waterpark an owner can provide to a holidaymaker in a year so usually there will be some kind of restriction on the numbers of days you can go to the waterpark however there are several other free access pools. If the owner lives onsite they will usually take you to the waterpark and sign you in which means the limit on usage is waived. All very complicated. Its an amazing resort however. Another thing i'd note if staying there is certainly for me personally i like a pool with a cage some of the bugs flying around in Florida are nothing short of 747 size. Homes next to golf courses (i think) dont have cages. Again worth noting.

This may differ from building to building; my understanding is that WYN is selling only a few buildings. Be sure to confirm any important amenities with the person from whom you are renting.

Folks staying on Wyndham points are given a social membership for the duration of their stay. I'm not 100% sure what that does (or does not) include, but I think there are three categories of memberships assigned to each villa/condo: a "golf membership", a "social membership", and no (conveyable) membership. I would guess based on how other resorts work that the social membership does include water park access, but call the resort to confirm.

We'll be there for 2 nights in August before our BCV stay. We will be staying on Wyndham points, so I'll report back then as to what our "social membership" includes.

Since there are only 3BR units available through Wyndham the discounts aren't as large as for the BC units as only the 50% discount is available (no upgrade). So the pricing for someone renting a unit may not be as good as it is for BC.
