I lived in a trailer (although prefer to say "mobile home"!) from the time I was 10 years old until the day I got married at 18. Not everyone who lives in a trailer is "trailer trash." The park where we lived was a very nice one with lots of evergreen trees (thus the name, "Evergreen Mobile Home Park.") and a nice amount of space between each one and there were RULES people had to follow or they were evicted. You had to keep your lawn cut, you had to have the bottom "skirted" so it looked nice, and the "tongue" had to be removed/covered, you couldn't wash your vehicle in the road, etc. etc. and eventually it even got to where there was no parking in the road, each space had their own covered driveway. It's right on a river, lots of ducks and geese, a nature trail through the woods, scenic areas with benches to sit on, etc. A REALLY NICE PLACE, NOT TRASHY AT ALL!!!!!
Sorry for the vent, but I just get really, really tired of all the "trailer trash" jokes.
