Does anyone know if they send the gingerbread shingles from the Grand Floridian by mail. My son would love one of these. Thanks

I kind of doubt it, but you can always give merchandise mail order a call to see what they can do. You can send an email (merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com), but the phone will probably be faster. The phone number is 877-560-6477.

You might take a look at allears.net for the shipping charges. It'll be pricey...

Hmm... that gives me an idea for Christmas - How difficult would it be to buy them there at the GF and then ship them on your own? I assume there's some sort of shipping service at the resorts? (I'll be staying on site, though not at the GF)

Would the gingerbread survive 5 days shipping?

The resorts with conference centers have business centers where you can ship items home. According to the website, GF has a conference center, so you can ship from there (they sell boxes, packing tape, etc.). I know most stores can also ship items, but I don't know if the GF Gingerbread House store can because it's a temporary location that deals primarily in food items.

Well...I've only had one gingerbread shingle and it was...um...hard...very hard...so I think it would have survived being shipped home without any issue.

Who on earth would wish shingles on a child?
No one...the OP was asking about the gingerbread cookies that they sell at the GF Gingerbread House that are shaped like roof shingles.

Really? They looked soft from the pictures. :sad1:

(I presume the Gingerbread Mickey ears are the same way? Is the gingerbread worthwhile getting then? ;) )

Mainly I was just concerned that they wouldn't spoil in 5 days. Thanks!

Maybe they've improved the recipe or I might have just had a bad one (it's been several years). I've read mixed reviews over the years, so hopefully you'll get a good one!

Its been several years, but we spent a small fortune on gingerbread shingles and other items at the GF Gingerbread house. We were all disappointed. Nothing we bought was good. I would not buy any gingerbread again. However, seeing the gingerbread house and staying at the GF at Christmas I would do again in a heartbeat:santa:

The gingerbread samples they gave out when the house was being assembled very nice and soft. But they were likely very fresh. That's not the kind of item that would last well, unless it gets loaded with preservatives.
