GIMP - anyone use it?

HI,
I am thinking of trying out GIMP, the free program. anyone here use it? and have any thoughts they would like to share or help sites? Any good tutorial sites? can you do a two page layout...like view two pages side by side?

i'm a graphic designer and had to use it on hubby's computer...it was horrible. if you're use to photoshop, it's like it, but way more difficult. it wouldn't re-size right and made moving text difficult.

i was screaming at the program. LOL
