I never knew "CB" was the abbreviation for "Citizens Band". CB is just one of those things I first heard of as a kid, and I never thought about what it stood for. Until I read what Carl said, I the first thing that came into my mind was that you were talking about a rock band I'd never heard of.

Also - speaking of rock bands and things from my childhood that I never thought about, what is that thing on the Eagles album? Whenever I see your posts, I look at it, study it, and wonder "What the heck is that thing, anyway". When I was a kid, it looked like a weird fly to me, so that's how I still see it . It kind of looks like something related to Native Americans, but I just can't tell.

I miss my CB. I had one for many years, but is was retired when I got rid of my first VW. It's around here somewhere...

Traveling the interstates as much as I did, it sure came in handy to ask Breaker 1-9 for a radio check and a smokey report. I became friends with one of the state troopers as a result. Then I'd always ask "How bout ya, Iceman?", knowing full well if he was on the other side of town I could speed!

Instigator. That was the handle my mom gave me. I was just a kid back in the 70's, but she'd let me get on and talk to my uncles when we did road trips up to Wisconsin. It would still fit though.
