Gilmore Girls....sorry, I was duped

I have recently discovered this show on ABC Family and dvr it everyday. I was sitting here watching yesterdays episode when they showed a commercial for a NEW SEASON! Yay!! I am so glad they are bringing it back. How did I miss this news???? June 8, I think is the first new episode.

I love Gilmore Girls!!! My sister and I were so bummed when they went off the air. It was funny because she couldn't get the new episodes for a while after she moved, no cable and didn't have dish yet, so I would torment her with the fact that I new what was going on!!!!

I'm thrilled. I never watched it when it was new, just started watching in syndication and was instantly hooked. It's such a clever, witty show!!

I just googled it, and it looks like ABC Family just aquired the rights to the last season, not that a new season is being produced.

If anyone has a link to info on a brand-new season, I would just LOVE to see it! Gilmore Girls was one of my top all-time favourite shows.

Sorry to disappoint (I'm a huge GG fan, too), but by "new season" they just mean season 7 (the last season). ABC Family had previously only shown seasons 1-6 and now they have rights to season 7.

You may be disappointed in Season 7. Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel were no longer involved with the day-to-day production of the program that season. As a result, the first half of the season is lackluster but picks up nicely near the end of the series.

I'm just happy that the whole series will be on now. We have the first 6 seasons memorized!

the last show of the last season - that's the stuff that made the show!!

DD has just discovered "fan fiction" and you can take a show and make your own ending - like Luke and Lorelai get the house that Emily bought them, they give the small house to Rory - and of course everyone lives happily ever after, no angst, just smiles!!

Ok, I am ticked off. ABC Family is advertising it as "the NEW season" and "the Gilmore Girls are back". They are intentionally misleading people. I feel stupid, and I can usually pick up on misleading advertising. Sorry for the false alarm.
