Last time we cruised, the kids' navigators had certain activities that were marked with a Mickey head. If the kids participated in at least one of these activities a day, they got a gift at the end of the week. Our DD got a bucket hat in the lab and our DS got a lunch bag in the club.

Do they still do this? Wondering what they are giving out...

Our family just returned (6/5) from the Magic and DD5 was involved in some of the activities (OC), but not many. She did receive a summer hat w/Oceaneers Club on the outside. I was not expecting this, since she didn't receive one for our earlier cruise on the Wonder. It was a wonderful surprise! I just thought to myself, this must be something new and wonderful that DCL has started.

When in reality...it's probably as you sd, it goes by the Mickey head deal. I didn't even notice the ears on their navigator's, but I will make sure she's there @ least for 1 of those activities.

I just cruised 6/19 2004. Disney Magic western...my DS 8 was involved a little in the kids club(lab) at the end of the week Fri. night he went to the farewell show (up on stage) he recieved a nice Disney " I discovered the magic" t-shirt & the hat. I think both were very nice suprise gifts.

Teens sometimes get stuff too! My teen got a cd case with "common grounds" on the front during the goodbye party. Not sure if they still do this- it was about 2 years ago.

We were on a cruise where the gift was given for attendance at activities marked with the mouse. On our last cruise, the gift was given to each child who attended the farewell party. As usual, each kid who does the "Discover the Magic" show got the T-shirt.

Other goodies--picture with Captain Mickey if child attended that session. They made a frame for it at another session.

DuncanLL, I asked DD about this and they no longer have the "designated" activities for a gift that you mentioned. DD didn't mention why they stopped but they haven't done that since she's been on the Magic. (My theory is that the recordkeeping was horrendous)

Now they give out "gifts" to children who participate in the activity where the gift is given out. Children who participate in the farewell show get the "I discovered the Magic" t-shirt as others have said besides the show is a fun activity. We loved watching it but were somewhat distracted by my 25 yo DD singing all the songs under her breath and going through all the motions in the chair beside us. (She was on vacation):rotfl:

My kids both got hats on the 6/20-24 Wonder and the only time they used the Clubs was 2 hours at Scuttle's Cove on CC while my wife and I enjoyed the adult beach, and 3 hours our last nite when we dined at Palo. It may have had something to do with the fact that we ate at Palo on the last nite of our cruise so they may have been giving hats to everyone at that time because the Clubs were closing.

our last cruise 11/03 they delivered the hats to my daughters. They had already done away with the designated activites by then. I just assumed everyone got them.

No hats for us but DD's participated in an activity where they made photo frames and had their picture taken with Daisy Duck. We got a 6 x 8 photo from a Shutters photographer with the frame.

When we were on the 4/17 eastern, it was my understanding that anyone who attended the good-bye party on the last night in the club/lab, received the gift. My DS went to the party and they were passing out hats to the children as they signed in.
