we are going to wdw in dec. and our ds's 8 & 9 wanted to bring back something for the class at school .....i need some ideas PLEASE.i dont want to spend alot doing this, they are in 3rd & 4th grade.I also was going to bring back something small for the two teachers (for being so nice as to excusing them from 3 days of school (the rest goes into christmas break) and for getting together all their work the week befor so they can do it ahead of time.thanks :cheer2:

Ornaments for teachers.

Pens, pencils or Mickey suckers for students. Or the Mickey chocolate money.

Just an opinion.

I have a suggestion what NOT to bring back... Soap. Last yr one of ds's classmates brought back soap for all the kids... his class was really small, the soap was definately what was left each day by mousekeeping... I thought it was a little tacky. But maybe it's a common "gift" b/c when my gma, aunt & cousin went, they "brought back" the shampoo & soap for my sons. :rotfl: Perhaps I have dirty kids?? :confused3

You could get a pkg of Mickey pencils. Or what about buying things from the Disney store? Or the Target dollar spot (they have pkgs of Mickey pencils). There's a store in DTD that's $10 and under. Most everything there can be found in other stores, so look around in the shops at the parks or even your resort.

How about a couple of books for their classrooms?

Too funny about the soap!

I posted this exact thing last year for our trip. I wound up buying the Mickey suckers for my class. I told them Mickey asked me to bring it to them b/c he heard they were the best class ever! They loved it.

My DS's teacher celebrated Mickey Mouse's birthday with her class and gave each child a bar of soap. I thought it was cute...some kids have never been to Disney and it's a cute way to bring some of the magic home. I don't think it's tacky at all.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "small" gift for the teachers but last time we went, the resorts were running a special "Spend $40.00 & get a really nice WDW canvas tote bag for only $10.00". Well, we spent over $1000.00 on souvenirs & ended up with a lot of tote bags...we gave one to each teacher.

I am a teacher...I would suggest not bringing them any ornaments, candles, or picture frames. Christmas is coming up & they will get WAY too many of them as it is.

** I would find out the school's rule about lollipops first, if they have one. We are not allowed to have any lollipops or hard candy at my school, period...not even at class parties. If a parent brought them in, she would have to take them back home.

Ahhhh, but how many will be Disney ornaments?

Funny to ban lollipops...do they ban popcorn, etc., or is it not a choking issue?

True, about the Disney ornaments... :goodvibes

Popcorn is not banned...just the lollipops & hard candy. Yes, it's a choking issue.

***By the way, for the OP....I like what a previous poster mentioned about buying a book or two for the class library.

For my son's elementary school classmates. We bought the fruit flavored Disney suckers (have Mickey's head ingraved in sucker) There are 17 in a bag for 1.99 plus 8 stickers in the bag. We gave the stickers to the teachers! Disney also gave us the big stickers. Enough for all the kids in his class. The children were very thankful and satified with the suckers and stickers!

We bought Disney coffe mugs for teachers. They were at Walmart for 2.49 and were very nice! The teachers loved them. They had the disney name on the bottom. We just came back!
