After i bought a plumeria cutting at Epcot, I got interested and read the plumeria forum on gardenweb. (BTW if you haven't visited that site you should. It is wonderful.) I asked for sources of inexpensive plumeria and this very nice man (who has done this for others) said e-mail me and I will set you up. Yesterday I opened a box from him and there were three HUGE plumeria cuttings - all leafed out. I believe from reading the web that he has done this for others. His postage alone was about $4.00. I am thinking of sending him a check for $20.00.

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? I'll let you know if I get them rooted. he told me to let them harden off for a week and then pot them. Very little water for these plants. Too much water can kill them. I can't wait - they are ugly sticks in the winter and soooo beautiful and smell so great when they bloom.

BTW the man across the street (who works in horticulture at WDW) told me to use baking soda to kill the crabgrass. The guy at the garden center said they have this marvelous new productd that really works. I bought some ($23.00) and guess what the ingredient is - baking soda and a little cinammon. Ughh. I am so glad I did not buy the $75.00 container.

Please let me know what yu think I should send to this man. i wish I had some great cuttings for him but I don't.

Ahhhh, the kindness of others! I'm so glad you were on the receiving end!

maybe you can spread the kindness and do it for someone else, maybe that's all he wants!

Hi Marlasmom,

LOL! Boy you sure did get interested, sounds like you did a lot of homework on the plant. I think that would be very generous of you to send him some money. Sure send $20.00 if you want, but I would send less. Maybe I am a cheapskate, but I think a free movie ticket or something would be nice too. That way he could get out of the sun and garden for awhile. LOL!

Wow, what a nice man! :)

I have no idea what Plumeria goes for where he lives, but $20 sounds generous.

I've heard that Plumeria smells divine. I just bought a Plumeria YC, so I guess I'll get an idea of the fragrance as soon as I light it up! :)
