I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I don't recall it. What if my father wants to deed his membership to me? No sale or transfer of money. Would this require a closing agent or be subject to scrutiny by Disney(ie ROFR)? He is getting older and has less desire to travel to Disney.

i think i have read somewhere that all your father has to do is add your name to the deed, im sure there was a fee to the states deed recorder. i do remember our guide telling us that there was no problem handing down the deed to our children when ever we wanted to. so, i would say your father does not have to pretend to sell you the deed, or go through rofr. your father can call ms accounting and probably get more info.

When I asked this question I was told it works like a quit claim deed and there is a minimal charge per point to transfer deed and take care of paperwork. I don't know if just adding someone as an owner would incur those charges.

You can do this. Just have your father call MS- Member Administration- and they can advise the process.

This will not have to go thru ROFR.
