If it were a girl it would be alot easier.

Birthday gift to a classmate. We were invited to go to the movies then to his house for cake and ice cream!

You can't go wrong with a Lego set. My son and his friends' favorite toy line is Transformers. There are items in a variety of prices available in both of these.

The new 20Q electronic game of 20 questions is cool---under $10 at wal-mart

My oldest DS also loves the Smithsonian science kits from wal-mart---all under $20. They have a growing crystals set, make a volcano set, solar system kit, chemistry kit, rocket kit, etc.

Our nephew (age 9) LOVED the giant ant farm we gave him last year; it has a certificate to mail off for the ants. Shouldn't every little boy have an ant farm at some point???

My DS9 loves anything sports-related. At Target for $20 I could find a decent youth sized football, a basketball, t-shirt with logo from one of the local teams, etc...
