My dd is very into horses and has just started riding lessons this year. She is doing great. I'm trying to think of good "horse" themed gifts for Christmas. She already has a large wooden stable with tons of toy horses (a gift from her DGM for her birthday) and a few Breyer stable sets that have broken (cheap plastic).
She also has a horse bedspread and various horse stuff animals/books.

Any ideas?

Does she need any horse gear? Like Breeches, boots, maybe fill a tote with all types of brushes, hoof pick, and combs that could be her own. Show clothes? It's been a while since I was showing horses but maybe these could be some ideas. Does she ride western or english?

My niece and daughter are very into horses. This year I bought my dd a Liv doll named Hayden and her horse nutmeg. Cute set at Toys R Us. A liv doll is sort of like a mix between a bratz doll and barbie. They are very nice dolls. I also bought from Target for my dd a few years ago a big horse. We still have it, they sit on it and everything, it's very durable. It's plastic. They even sell them at walmart now, I saw them the other day. They're around 30. They're about the size for an 18 inch doll to sit on. But, like I said, they still sit on it now and my dd is 11. :rotfl: Not sure if she has any game system, I know you said she's only 5, but if she does check out the games. There are a lot of animal games. My dd has a few different horse games for her ds. Also there are horse webkinz.

Just a few ideas.... I was drawn to your thread because of my horse lovers.

She's been riding western so far. These ideas are good. We have a Wii...what kinds of games are out there (I can search myself). I didn't know about Liv dolls. I should email her teacher to see if she has any suggestions.

Well, this is more for someone who has her own horse rather than using one from a stable's stock, but a sweatshirt or tee portrait of her favorite horse. A friend of mine used to do these at horse shows from photos, and they were hugely popular with the young girls.

Hose themed bedding. DD8 is also into horses. Shes taking lessons from a friend. She wants bedding for chistmas, for her birthday Dec.11th She wants new boots, jeans, shirt and cowboy hat, plus a new belt buckle. We a western cowboy family.

I found some cute bedding at Rods.com

Barbie Horse Adventures: Riding Camp Game available for Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, PS2, and PC game.

Black Beauty Book and DVD Set - I wouldn't get the regular Black Beauty unless you plan to read it to her but I think I've seen an abridged version called Classic Starts (?) at Barnes and Noble.

Tekno the Robotic Pony (this looks a tad expensive, though)

Does she do American Girl? They have the CUTEST riding outfits for dolls and also a horse tee shirt and western skirt for dolls and girls and a book called Girls and Their Horses. Maybe one of their horses and/or foals? If not AG then check Target and Walmart -- they have similar (but cheaper) horses and Target has foals. If you get the cheaper ones - word to the wise the hair is terrible. BRAID IT! I did 7-10 tiny braids in the mane and the tail of ours and haven't had a problem since.

Melissa and Doug Horse Stable Stamp Set

Herd Your Horses board game. Says 7-12 but some reviewers mentioned a way to play called Mustang Escape (?) that younger ones could play.
