I am at loss as to what to get my nephew for Christmas. He walks extremely well and has enough walking toys to open a toy store of his own. His mother is of NOOOOOOOOOO help and let's just say her and I don't get along the best.
He has a older boy cuz, an older sister and an old girl cuz. He seems to hang with girls whenever I've been around him.
So I need suggestions and I hope to have things bought by January 5th.

How about a keepsake gift since he has lots of toys- a Disney Peter Pan snow globe, a bank, a savings bond or two, and maybe a matchbox car so he has something to open.

That's a perfect age for any of the Fisher-Price Little Peopl sets. My kids all loved them, especially the farm and house, and since he's a boy he might like the discovery city little people set. Those sets gave us hours of independent play!

I still love playing with FP barn set My brother's and I had as kids. I'll keep that idea in mind but am still open to ideas.

I got my nephew when he was that age the Little Tykes Discovery Sounds Workshop.

My son is almost 18 months and even I didn't know what to get him. :rotfl: Seriously, it was tough since he has an older brother--we already have so many toys. Some things that I'm noticing him playing with lately are trucks and cars. He likes to crawl around and move them. Also Mega Blocks which are similar to the big duplo legos (or the big legos for that matter).

do they have a computer? if so any of the "living books" are fantastic for this age (little monster, bearenstain bears, little critter). the little one just drags and clicks all over each page while the story is read to them (when they get older they can set it up to read it themselves) and all kinds of things start happening to the pictures (character breaks out in song, trees fly out of trees, car engine starts up then backfires...). we got these for our kids at this age and sat with them on our lap while they controlled the mouse (if he has an older sister maybe she could sit with him).

My son just turned one and a HALF (BOO HOO) and he loves the Little People sets and he loves any and all trucks!!!

If more toys are a problem, how about:
A membership to a local zoo or children's museum;
Books;
Savings bond;
Clothes;
Craft kit with finger paints, color wonder markers and pads, crayons, glue sticks, play dough; or,
A playhut (that's a brand of pop-up tent/playhouse)?

They live with my dad. It's not that toys are a problem it's that he has so many of the walking/push type. Computer games- he has a pretty big selection of them thanks to older cuz's and sis plus I had bought some just b/c I liked them.
So far I'm leaning towards Fisher Price something or other since I'm trying to avoid batteries.

I'd get him plain old stacking blocks. It seems like in my experience, kids that have lots of toys sometimes don't have the simple stuff. Kids love the knock down factor in the simple blocks!

These are not toys but my kids enjoyed having their own dish sets (plate, bowl and cup). Some even come with a fork and spoon. Target has a real cute Christmas set in a plastic backpack with all of the above.

My kids also enjoyed having their own character bath towels and wash rags.

How about bath soap, the kind you can draw on yourself with and the walls?

Do he have his own bed? How about a pair of character sheets?

None of these are ooh and aah items but something they enjoy more over the long haul.

One more suggestion. My SIL's two year old grandson received a National Geographic remote control snake. It didn't move all that fast, just right for his age, and kept him entertained for hours. It was found at Target in the toy section. Of course, you do need batteries.
