Gift idea

I recently got back in touch with a friend I haven't seen since high school. She invited my dh & I to her annual fall get-together. I'm going to bring a dessert but I thought I should bring her a small gift too. Not having seen or spoken to her in many, many years (more years than some of you have been around) I don't know anything about her.

What are some gift ideas that are pretty generic (just about anyone might like) but nice? Not looking to bring any type of booze.

How about a nice coffee mug with some hot chocolate mix or flavored tea inside. Or a nice scented candle. Just a few suggestions.

Personally, I would not expect a gift. If you feel like you need to take something other than the dessert, how about some pretty fall flowers? I bet she is just excited to see YOU, so suggest lunch where just the 2 of you can spend hours catching up!

This is a cute idea.

Some sparkling cider...fancier but not alcoholic.

Some matching paper dessert plates and napkins with a Fall theme tied with a coordinating ribbon. I got that as a hostess giftonce and loved it!

Candles don't thrill me.
