Gift idea..updated with pictures

I bought some huge glass vase type things at a discount store....I also found some pot pourri..be careful, some of this stuff smells gross! (you can make your own with dried stuff from your garden in season and some fragrant oils).
I put the pot pourri and a string of white lights in the vase...when you plug it in, the lights heat up and the whole house smells good and really looks pretty with the white lights and dried stuff.

Got the idea from the garden club..the first great idea since joining.


It is really covering the smell of burnt styrofoam in the microwave, thanks to DS.

and the kids Christmas picture, taken on Thanksgiving at the beach.

What a cool decorating idea!! Is there any chance that the potpourri could catch on fire? What a worrywort, eh? Wouldn't want you to end up with hot rose hips now would we?

Kim/...since i am trying to get rid of the nasty microwave accident smell...I plug it in int he morning and unplug at night...doesnt get hot enough to burn.

thank you both for the picture comments...the kids DID not want to be there so I thought the pictures turned out great considering.
