I'm essentially repeating a question that came up on the general community board since I have the same issue. I'm off to Scotland in a week. People have been amazing and opened up their homes to us and are really bending over backward to help us out.

What would be good and appropriate gifts for us to bring?

how about some local wines or food stuffs? an american flag?, something appropriate to your state?

I would agree - something from 'home'

which state are you from?? it may help us decide what may appeal to us

We're from Massachusetts. The typical "local food gift" would be maple syrup. Appropriate?

Thanks for all the help,
Sal

Maple syrup.....YUM

We can buy it here but bet it's not as good as the 'real' stuff ;)

def appropriate! maple syrup is yum!
also how about something from the boston redsox or other state sports teams?
