I work part time in an elementary school library - there's no full time librarian, just me. This year I have 2 wonderful parent volunteers who come in (one more than the other) to help with shelving books, covering books, labeling books, basically anything I don't have enough time to do.

I'd like to give them a little something for the holidays to show my appreciation, but I know they will tell me I shouldn't have done anything. Do you have any suggestions? What would be appropriate?
TIA

A nice book or a magazine subscription? Or a small GC for coffee?
Last year I got some really cute mugs at Xmas tree shops, really affordable, and filled it with hot choc packets, and ghiradellie chocolates. I wrapped them in cellphane with bows, they were really pretty.

What about a $10 GC to a nice restaurant near you. I'm thinking something like a Panera (bagal place, coffee, nice sandwiches). It would truly show your appreciation for the work they are doing for you.

Do you have a PTA in your school? In my DD's elementary school - in the "flush" years, they would budget for some of the volunteer appreciation gifts. Maybe you could ask for a little help from them for next year? These volunteers do, in fact, help the whole school!

A $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble and a gift bag of homemade cookies. :goodvibes

Thanks for your help. I think I'll do $10 to Barnes and Noble for one and $10 to Dunkin Donuts for the other.

I'd like to add a little something else, but won't do my holiday baking until the weekend, so won't have anything ready for this week. I can purchase candy (I like the peppermint bark idea - maybe Trader Joe's?) OR I have some nice Pashmina scarves ($5) to give away (bought a bunch last time I was in NYC). Is the scarf a good idea or would you stick with the candy?
