Gift for groom

It might help to know what your budget is...

I planned a Segway tour for DH and myself a few days after our wedding. He loved it!

One bride got the Richard Petty driving experience for her DH and he was totally surprised as well.

What kind of things are you thinking of?

Well, actually we are having a wedding at home and honeymooning at AKL in Disney. I was looking for ideas for a gift I could give him on our wedding day. Sorry, I should have been more specific!!

LOL! No apologies necessary! I'm sorry I made a bad assumption!

I have heard of watches as gifts, or some other "remembrance" type thing (I think I remember hearing that someone gave their DH a scrapbook of their lives together "so far").

I hope you get some great ideas!!

I found a great watch that I wanted to buy but I wasn't sure if he would ever wear it so I casually brought it up and he said he never wears any jewelry and that he has a watch but he doesn't wear it so now I am back at square one. If you think your DF will wear it then I think it is a great idea (wish mine would lol)

I bought my husband a white gold chain that I had special ordered from Italy. He doesn't like yellow gold and at the time, it was hard to find white gold jewelery for men here (this was 3 years ago). He usually doesn't wear jewelery (including his wedding band) but he doesn't take the chain off. Not very original but he loves it! Good luck with your upcoming wedding!

our wedding presents to each other...were doing the back lot studio tour at disney. :) can't wait to go!!

I bought my husband a gold pocket watch (he doesn't like wearing regular watches) on the front I had engraved his initals and on the back I had engraved "...until the end of time" and our wedding date. He adores it!

Cufflinks are always nice too. Cufflinks.com has plain silver Mickey ones as well as cufflinks for just about every other hobby/activity/profession out there. And they have them in all sorts of price ranges!

I got my hubbie a few things.
I got him a silver pocket watch with the wedding mickey and minnie on the front with our names and date and on the back, it said meet me at 12 o'clock.... (Ok so it's something he'll never wear again but he really loved it any it has sentimental value, I got it on ebay and it was quite a good price), cufflinks with his football team on and the big one which he totally loved and is still talking about a year later! the Richard Petty driving experience.

I have no idea what to get either! My DF will not wear ANY jewelry or cufflinks and ruins anything expensive in about a day :headache: He owns his own business and spends all day working out in the shop. His likes are tools, trucks and fishing. My problem is that he already has every darn tool ever created, I cant afford to buy him a truck, and he has about 200 fishing poles.

I'm thinking about getting him a large tool chest (the big tall ones with drawers) and maybe engraving something cute, like a play on words about us and tools?? But I have no idea what to engrave, and it might be hard to carry at 250lb tool box to the wedding ;)

I decided on a gift for DF. I uploaded about 150 photos to shutterfly.com and am making a photobook for DF to give him on our wedding day. It will have pictures beginning when we started dating until our wedding day. The books are BEAUTIFUL!! They are hand-bound, have leather covers, acid-free pages in which your pictures are printed on, and you can choose colors for the pages as well as quotes or captions. I plan to send this over to DF VIA my maid of honor while we are getting ready right before the wedding. I’m sure he will love it!!! I’m also hoping to book a fireworks cruise as a surprise for him while we are at WDW.

I am getting mine a motorcycle. He always wanted one and this will be a great surprise!

My fiance and I were going to do traditional bride and grrom gifts to each other. But as we have gotten closer to the wedding it has just become stressful trying to figure out the perfect gift to give each other on top of everything else we have to do. We have already been dating over 4 years and given many nice gifts to each other. So we sat down and decided it was more important for us to forgo gifts to each other and maybe just do something special on the honeymoon together. We are however writing each other letters to each other that will be delivered from our maid of honor and best man. So when we are apart getting ready, we can read a wonderful message before we walk down the aisle and then have a keepsake of that day. Personally I think that a love letter to read years from now will be more important to us than a watch or other piece of jewelry. At least for us anyway. And I can say I feel a lot better not trying to buy the perfect gift of a lifetime. So just a note to anyone who may be in the same boat as we were.

I would like to get DF the sparkly Mickey Cufflinks, however Arribas Bros website doesn't list them. I will look when I am in WDW over Christmas.

Wow, you're a very brave wife to be! Motorcycles scare the life out of me! Luckily my DF had a bad wreck before we met, and refuses to get on one anymore! :woohoo:

i think my df and i are going to buy a beach condo, i really love the beach and need a getaway every once in awhile!

I love the idea of writing a letter, and reading it while you get ready. Also, I don't know if this counts, but I am thinking about surprising him with a groom's cake. He really likes cars and I see that Disney makes a car cake that looks amazing. The only thing is that I haven't had them priced yet...I'm scared to find out! LOL
