I volunteer with Make a Wish Foundation and am meeting a new family tomorrow. When I meet a new family, I like to bring a little gift (about $10) to each of the children in the house, I have a lot of data on the MaW child and should find a gift easily, but am a bit stuck on her siblings. She has a 8 year old brother and a 2 year old sister. I would love some recommendations for cheaper gifts for her siblings. I am going to run over to Target over lunch. Thanks!

8 year old boy:
4 pack of Hot Wheels cars
New coloring book in a "boy" theme and a Big Box of new crayons
Small pack of Toy Story 3 action figures
Small puzzle or board game
Baseball or football cards
Something Thanksgiving themed (Target should have something in their Holiday section) - book, coloring book, DVD, toy, puzzle, etc

2 year old girl:
Little People figurines (they come usually in a tube of three)
Small stuffed animal
Chunky wooden-paged book (I like the ones with lots of little pictures of animals/things to help identify the words)
Easy big wooden shape puzzle
Something Thanksgiving themed (Target should have something in their Holiday section) - book, coloring book, DVD, toy, puzzle, etc

My nephew who just turned 9 is into Baukegons, and I think some of the items might be around 10.00. For the 2 year old, I would suggest anything Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dora, Sesame Street and they are typically starting pretend play around that age. What about one of those books (usually character themed) that you can press different buttons that makes sounds as you read along?

I have a 2 yr old girl and she LOVES Tinkerbell. I would buy the girl a Tinkerbell barbie doll or a box of Disney Fairy figurines. My girl loves hers!

Just be careful, if the little one is only 2, to obey the "3 and up" age limits on the box. You and I might not be too much concerned with it for our own kids, but when giving a gift to a child/family you don't know too well, its better to be safe and follow the box. ;)

My 8yo son is into Legos, Bakugans, anything Star Wars, lightsabers, baseball cards, and now Harry Potter. Most of these you can pick up a small gift of $10 or less.
