Hi everyone, how does it work if I bought Disney gift cards here in Canada to purchase my Disneyland California tickets? How does it compare to paying a foreign exchange rate on a regular credit card?

You are better off buying Disney gift cards in Canada with a credit card, rather than using a credit card to pay a USD charge. You would be basically saving 2.5% by using a Disney gift card. (There are some exceptions, i.e., there are some Canadian credit cards that don't charge the 2.5% foreign transaction fee, but you'd still be a little better off buying Disney gift cards and using those to pay.)
