I am not sure what laws and regulations are in-place for a "closed" gift card system like Disney's (i.e., not like the "open" Visa/MC/AmEx gift cards that can be used anywhere), but given the price of an average Disney land or sea vacation for a family of four, it'd sure be nice if the max balance on a single Disney gift card could be more than $1000.
