Yep. We do it all the time. You can also use them to pre-pay the tips. I've also added them to the account when onboard (at guest services)

Yes. What you are really doing is purchasing onboard credit using a Disney gift card as payment. Unless something has changed, you have to call DCL to do this.

Make sure you keep that gift card until your cruise is complete. Any left over funds will go back onto it.

Not sure about the other person's room question. If worst comes to worst, just give them the 16 digit card number and they can put it on the room

DCL will use the gift cards first as they're accounted for as a credit on the account

As other said, yes you can put money on you account using a gift card before the cruise - I believe they cut that off 3 days before the cruise so don't wait until the last minute.

My MIL put money on our account and she was not cruising with us. She did it through our travel agent so I am not sure if they did it direct with Disney or through the gift sight (the same as ordering an in room gift before the cruise).

If you have their reservation number, you can buy OBC for them using the gift card. You're not putting the gift card on the account - you are using that amount to purchase onboard credit for them. Same basic animal, but slight difference.

Hang onto the gift card though because if they don't use all of it, the leftover will be returned to the gift card.

You can also take the gift cards to customer service when you get on the ship, and they will apply to your onboard account.

I received a Disney eGift Card from my TA. I printed it out to apply to my onboard account.
Has anyone done this with an eGift Card? I’ve only ever used regular gift cards.

No difference. As long as you have the numbers you can call it in OR transfer the balance to another card on the Disney gift card site.

No problem. I’ve just learned about the electronic GCs and website since May. It’s helped my life! Keep records of everything somewhere safe. I have everything compressed on 3 cards currently and will move a daily budget amount to another card for the parks. At anytime I could access more $ from the site however.

Help, trying to add Disney Gift Card to my Disney gift card profile. Keep getting error message "
Oops! Something is wrong.
Invalid card information. Please check your card information and try again." Has anyone else have issues adding card today? I called ph# on back on card and verified balance of $25 TIA
