Gift Cards Shipped to Canada

Hi, I want to purchase about $1500 of Disney Gift cards for use in the Disney World resort and have been trying the various US sites but I keep getting a message that they don't ship to the address entered (Canada).

I read here that they do ship to Canada for $25, but I can't seem to get it to work.

Anyone have success buying gift cards? Thanks!

Granted it's been a year or two since I tried myself, but was told over the phone at that time that Disney won't ship gift cards to Canada.

First off, a big welcome to the DISboards

There a couple of work-arounds for this problem. First is easiest in my mind, take the cash with you (get a cheapie body wallet type thing to keep it safe and wear it under your shirt) and make the very first thing you do a stop to convert it into Gift Cards. OR if you're friends with someone you trust in the states you can as them to be an intermediate shipping point and send them on to you. (never comfortable with gift cards in the mail personally) OR if you live in a border city make a day trip to a city that has a Target and buy them yourself??

It seems that they have stopped sending them to Canada. We've ordered them in the past (yes, it was $25 shipping with FedEx but they were here in 2 days- from Disneyland) but haven't been able to order them recently.

I thought it was just me, and I was doing something wrong when I couldn't get it to ship to Canada, but now that I know it just can't be done, I'll make the drive to the States and get it.

Now, I'm just debating on if I should get a Sams Club or BJ membership and get if from there or just buy it from the Disney store....

So probably a silly question that can be found somewhere in the mountains of threads on this site, but can you not get them at a Disney store here in Canada? Is it a better deal to get them in the States for some reason? We are surprising the kids with a trip to DLR right after Christmas so I want to also get them some gift cards to use down there.

Gift cards you buy in Canada are only good for purchases in Canada. Sorry, you can try getting a coupon printed out for them that's good for something once you get there @bababear_50 makes some nice ones!

Okay good to know. I live close to the boarder so I will just hop over the line if I need to. I just thought I heard somewhere that you could get them at the Disney stores here. Thanks!

Thank you! I lurked a lot last year when we were planning a trip to WDW and it was so helpful. This year back to DLR. (I am a west coaster, so it is easier!)

You can buy Disney gift cards from target and have them shipped to Canada and right now if you spend $100 Canadian you get to take 20 dollars off. I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not but it's an option.

You would think they would tell you that on the product page before you got that far. Sorry, I never actually went past putting them in my cart to see if they would go.
