Gift Cards for CM's

I have only cruised one other time and it was with Disney on a 4 day.
I have noticed a lot of people talking about gift cards for the Counselors and other CM's on the ship. I would love to do something like this, especially for the counselors at the Kids Club. Afterall, they help to make my vacation wonderful.
I am looking for suggestions as I have never done this before. Where do you get them from? How much do you usually give? Also, any other suggestions for gifts would be welcome as well.

I had read on here that the CM can get to Wal-mart on Saturdays between cruises to pick up personal supplies. So I got 2 $10 gift cards for each of my children to give out at the end of the week. My 2 daughters chose to give theirs to the counselors in the club/lab. My son gave 1 to his favorite counselor in the lab and 1 to his favorite server at Scoops!
