Last week, the $100 cards were on sale for $92, so a slightly better deal. I've seen them as low as $88.

I wouldn't pre-buy unless you're planning to use the cards within the next week or so. There have been problems with gift cards being drained by unauthorized purchases.

This! I lost the equivalent of $800 worth of SW money buying GC's this way and the GC's being later drained. They come from Paypal who apparently doesn't have the best security. It had been 5-9 mos since I had bought them and Paypal would not refund me. I will NEVER buy GC's this way again that I cannot use immediately.

The gift cards are sold by PP digital gifts and GOBS of people lost their money. It wasn't just on Southwest. I also lost Best Buy and Lowe's money. The Best Buy had been within 60 days so I was able to get refunded. The others were all old GC's that I had held. There was a lot of chatter about it here on the boards last Aug/Sept when the hack happened. Here is an article about it from doctor of credit:
