Gift Card/Dining Plan

I am sure this has been asked somewhere, but I searched and could not find it.

So....I am going this June with the PIN Code that gets me a $500 gift card. Currently I do not have the dining plan on my plan. I was hoping to add the dining plan on check in, then get my $500 gift card and immediately pay off the dining plan with the gift card.

Does anybody know if this is possible? If not...is there a better/different option?

I think the DDP has to be added on 72 hrs before arrival.

You CANNOT add the dining plan at checking. Must be done AFAIK 3 days prior to check in, so you won't be able to use the GC to pay for that..

What you CAN do, is get 1 day base tickets. Then use your GC to upgrade after you check in (and got your card).

The dining has to be added 72 hours before you get there. Also I was told the gift card can not be used towards a package.

The above posters are correct. You cannot add the dining plan at check-in. You must add it at least 3 days prior to arrival. (Some have reported they were told 6 days so I'd give it a week)

We are not doing the dining plan but are planning to use the $500.00 giftcard as a "debit card" to pay for all of our food. That works for us since it just 2 people going that don't eat a whole ton
