Gift card deal at Meijer's

Just wanted to let those with Meijer's stores know that they are having the Mperks deal with gift cards right now. I bought a $500 Disney gift card and by the time I got home had my $50 in Mperks rewards. I think the deal is going on for a few weeks, might end by Father's Day, they did the same deal right before Mother's Day.

I used this deal to pay off a lot of my recent Fantasy cruise. Unfortunately, I don't have another cruise or parks trip planned for any time soon so I don't see myself taking full advantage of it this time, but I'll probably pick up $100 or $200 card to set aside for our next vacation.

So I get confused sometimes with small print, if I buy $500 in Disney Cards I then get a $50 coupon to spend on anything? I thought Disney was excluded in the gift card offers.

Disney is not excluded in the Meijer mPerks gift card offers. I've used the offers many times. You have to have an mPerks account. It's $5 back in mPerks rewards for every $50 in gift cards purchased. So yes, if you purchase $500 in Disney gift cards, you will get 10 $5 off mPerks rewards to be used on future shopping trips. It is a little annoying in that when you are checking out on your next shopping trip, you will have to click yes that you want to redeem each of the 10 individual mPerks rewards, but the savings is worth it.

Additionally, if you have a Chase Freedom card, the quarterly bonus right now is for grocery stores and Chase has always counted Meijer as a grocery store for purposes of the quarterly bonus. So if you have a Freedom card, use that to purchase the gift cards and you will get an additional 5% back in Chase Freedom Ultimate Rewards.

Also the mperks rewards DO have an expiration date on them. I shop there every week, so hasn't been an issue for me, but thought I'd mention it. I forgot to enter my mperks number one time at the store, but was able to get on their website at home and enter some numbers from the store receipt and got the rewards.
