When I bought at BLT I remember being told about a gift card (I don't have my papers in front of me so this is from memory). I bought last november and I have never been given one. I was told the x amount off per point would be given in gift card form.I think it came out to be several hundered dollars. Am I going to be recieving one or am I just remembering things wrong?

Sorry if this is kinda rambling.

I believe they usually give you the choice of the gift card, or to apply the money towards the down payment. Did you put a full down payment, or did u have them apply the funds toward that maybe?

It was the gift card. I just got the deed in the mail, maybe it comes around that time. When did anyone else get theirs?

The "gift card" was the incentive of $5 off per point and was in addition to a down payment that a buyer gave at the time of purchase. There wasn't an actual gift card exchanged.

Hmmm my mind must be playing tricks on me. Trying to figure this out is giving me a headache and confusing me. Trying to understand why Disney does what it does can do that to a person though.:confused3

When I initially purchased and when I did an add on I received $8.00 off per point, this $8.00 was in the form of a gift card that I signed over to disney as part of the downpayment. There is a paper you sign asigning the value of the gift card to DVD. This is probably done for bookeeping purposes, at least that is my best guess. Oh and the $8.00 off was last summer not recently.

You should look through your closing documents to verify the status of your card.

I just added on at BLT and the "gift card" is what everyone is saying. It was to be used to reduce the per point price.

Mine is being using as part of my 10% down payment and one of the papers that we sign has the gift card going directly to DVD.

Check your figures. If you paid $107/ppt., then you received the value of the gift card.

I bought in October and the gift card was a per point price reduction - mine amounted to $1400. It was made very clear to us that we could take the gift card as is OR apply it to our down payment. We chose to apply it to the down payment (as I think most people do). There is a form in your paperwork that stipulates the amount of the gift card and you sign it to have it applied to the down payment. Check your paperwork for this - I think there's also a separate sheet that just lists the gift card amount (not a signature sheet). I'm traveling right now and can't look at my paperwork to verify what the heading is or what title to look for, though.

We got the same kind of deal with the "gift card" when we added on at AKV in early January. Except we paid more than the required 10% down, and then applied the gift card on top of that. I thought about taking it as an actual card for a few moments, but decided it was better to reduce what we we needed to pay that way.

I had a chance to look at my documents and found the paper. Oh well. Thanks for the posts to clear things up.

So, has anyone ever said they wanted the actual gift card? Wonder what the guide would do if that happened. They seem to just pass the gift card off quite quickly as we sign the papers.
