Any suggestions for items to put in a gift basket for an 11 year old (girl) who isn't all that into the "princesses" or "characters" all that much anymore but is still looking forward to a trip to Disney? A Stitch stuffed "doll" is one idea - she does like Stitch (some) .

It depends on if it has to be Disney or just something she would enjoy using at Disney. For Disney stuff, she might really enjoy the pin trading. The last time we went, my oldest son was eleven, and he really had fun with the pin trading. You can purchase Disney pins on ebay, give them to her in the basket, and then she can buy a lanyard for them and trade them when she gets to Disney. For non-Disney items, cute sunglasses would be helpful. Maybe a small backpack or fanny pack to use in the park.

How about a disposable camera (unless she has a camera?). She could use it to record the trip from her perspective.

Would she be into pics with the characters and autographs? You could get her an autograph book and pen. Maybe if not that a journal type book that she could write down what you did each day as a memory of the trip (could go along with pictures that she takes). Looking for characters is like a scavenger hunt each time we go.... we try to see how many new characters we can find.

I agree that pin trading is fun for the kids, and would be something fun in a gift basket.

A Hidden Mickey book to help in searching for Hidden Mickey's in the parks.

Would she be into the pressed pennies as souveniers? Maybe a roll of quarters and pennies (each one takes 2 quarters and a penny) there are some quarter (I think) machines now too.

Does she wear hats? You might want to pick up a baseball cap or some type of hat to keep the sun off her head.

Snacks.....

Just some things that came to my mind

How about making up some Disney trivia cards to help pass the time while standing in line? I've done this before. Used business card stock and typed the questions and answers up in Word then just printed them out and carried them with us.

I was going to suggest a roll of quarters and pennies for pressing but someone beat me to it. Our granddaughter thought this was great and she wanted a penny for each "tough" ride she conquered. She also wanted one from each of the Epcot countries.

I don't know when you are going but other items could be a hand held fan/mister kind of thing and some sunscreen. A small water bottle that she can refill from the fountains in the parks. Anything to make her day easier on her (and you).

Have fun!

last year at dollar store I got glow necklaces. Enough in pack to make two necklaces. My kids love these. How about DD to spend. Her own fanny pack. Disposable camera is good. How about walkie talkies. My dd will be 11 in July and she loves these.

How about a Disney themed purse or wallet, disney dollars, magic towels, beach towel, key chain, pens, disney candy, Disney flip flops, picture frames or a photo album. I am still thinking.... :cool1:

I love the pin trading idea (I think I even have a lanyard she can use ) - I forgot about this, and she'll probably enjoy it.
I also like the glow neckless idea from the dollar store.

We've been to Disney before so it's hard to get creative....she would also like the journal idea I think (although she has tons of them.....).
