Gideon's wait times during the day/availability of monthly items?

Hi! I love Gideon's and have made the effort to show up before 10:00AM to get the coffeecake cookie and to not have to use the virtual queue on previous trips. On my trip next week, I'm excited that I'll be there over the end of January and the beginning of February to get to try two different specialty cookies. However, I would prefer not to have to spend morning time at Disney Springs so early in my trip (usually I "ropedrop" it later during a trip). My first question is, if I show up in the afternoon/evening, will they be using an hours-long virtual queue? Or have they recently just had people waiting outside the building?

Also, I specifically want to get the specialty January cookie/coffee/cake slice, and get a January postcard. Do they ever run out of the monthly items later in the day?

Thanks!

I went today. Showed up at 12 or so. 15 minute line and coffee cake was still available. I’m guessing everything else was too- we got a bunch.

When I walked back around a little later near 2, it was even shorter than when I went. But by around 3, DS was a lot busier so I’m guessing line got longer.

Oh we are going to be there Jan 28-Feb 3 and I didn’t even think about getting to try two specialty flavors!! Yes! Thanks for mentioning that! I almost missed out! Haha.

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 fingers crossed for short lines!

how do you use the vq here? I've only ever seen a really long line while walking past, and never stopped to investigate

When the VQ is in use, there will be an employee at the end of the stand by line directing you to a different, shorter line by the front door, where another employee will register you for the VQ. you then get a text when its time to come back and get in line

Avoid the weekends! Unless you want to be in the VQ.

I’ve been there in the afternoon and evenings, weekdays and weekends. Sometimes it’s VQ and sometimes not. I have been told that once the line is over an hour or wraps around too much in front of Morimoto on the water side, that’s when they start the VQ.

We are going to be there on the Sunday before Memorial Day. 😲 Probably a bit after lunch time. We'll be spending lots of time at Disney Springs, so a VQ is just fine. Is it like a ride though, when you still wait in a really long line after your VQ is called?
And I'm sure there is NO substitute for Giddeons... but in case we can't get anyway, where do you go for your back up cookie or sweet fix?

Usually the physical line after your VQ is called is 15-30 minutes. We love Ganachery for their chocolates. Some of the stuff at Amorettes is good. We thought the cake we got was dry and not very flavorfull. Salt & Straw for ice cream. I haven't been yet, but Summer House has a cookie bar with togo cookies. Everglazed has fancy donuts, but I haven't been there.

Thank you very much!

Because I always appreciate when people report back, I thought I'd share how it went. I ended up having a family member show up before opening in January, and they were able to easily get the January goods with a pretty short wait. On February 6th (a Tuesday), I got in line at 12:38PM. They were quoting a 35-minute wait. I was out of there with my goods (including a coffeecake cookie!) in just under 30 minutes.
