Giant Eagle Gift Cards

We are planning to save a few $ on our upcoming Easter trip by purchasing Disney gift cards at our local Giant Eagle. This way, we earn "Fuel Perks" (money off gasoline), and I can earn points on my credit card with the purchase. Does anyone know if these gift cards are good at DTD establishments, like Earl of Sandwich and Rainforest Cafe? If not, does anyone know what type of gift cards are taken at Rainforest and T-Rex?

Rainforest Cafe is not disney owned and will not take the gift card. We tried and couldn't use our Disney Reward Card so I'd think the same would apply with a gc. The reason being not disney owned. I'm not sure on T-rex. Does anyone know if the gc expire or start to lose money to fee's at a certain point in time? I want to buy one every now and again for our trip next year but not sure if there are any expiration?

ETA any disney owned restaurant will take the gc. Look up the restaurants on the dining plan and you'll know...Earl of Sandwich should take it.

Rainforest and T-Rex are owned by Landry's. They accept those GCs. I also like to take GCs so I can purchase a few at a time to save them up.

You can buy them at CVS. I found them there and since there are no Landry's restaraunts in OH I was surprised. But glad...since I didn't want to pay shipping and would have just then paid cash when we ate there.

You also might want to know, Giant Eagle had a sign up that they are only accepting cash or debit for GCs now, because I had the same idea. I have a Key miles card....but they only give 1 mile per $6 on debit transactions rather than 1 per $2 on credit. Can't say that's all of them, but the one near me (brooklyn) had it.

We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe in October and used our Reward Card from our Disney Visa Points.

tinkohio in Jan. Giant Eagle offered 20 cent fuel perks for the purchase of $50 Disney cards. Maybe they will run that offer again before you go so keep looking on the Giant Eagle web sit. That is where I found the sale. Loved the fact I just used my fuel perks and spent .49 cents per gallon of gas.

I wonder if that store is independently owned (about 60 Giant Eagle stores are independently owned). All the ones around me are corporate owned and they allow you to use credit cards to purchase gift cards. I know because we are doing a lot of work on our house and buy a lot of Home Depot cards.

Thanks for the replies. I called our Giant Eagle, and they do take credit cards. We are planning to eat some meals off property, so we will check out the gift card choices.

Guess I'll try a different one when I'm ready to start buying the gift cards. I've had other problems at the Brooklyn store that I haven't had at the ones in Parma, like honoring pharmacy gift card offers. I always used my card as credit to buy GC's in the past. Just last week I saw what must be their new policy.

Got about $2000 to pay off and the miles and fuel perks will come in handy!

I have about 15 cards. going to be booking for September very shortly. Anyone know if any problems using all the cards to pay for the trip? What is the best way to do this, over the phone or website?
