We used to live in my DH's grandparents house. Both of them died there, one of a heart attack, and the other of suicide. My DH swears he had a ghost go through him, or felt the "aura". Said it was a bone chilling cold. We used to have this angel at Christmas that we had on top of our entertainment center. It would move. One day we would find it looking backwards. We would fix it, and the next day...backwards again. But probably the freakiest was one night when after a candle party I had. The front door could only be locked by putting the key in the lock on the inside of the door. No knob or anything to lock it. So there is no way to just accidently lock yourself out. I was helping the party person put her stuff in her car, went to come back in, and I was locked out of the house!! My DH was sound asleep upstairs.

Guess his grandparents didn't like me! LOL

I do believe in ghosts and am constantly trying to learn more about them. I see it as a fun occupation to be one somewhere down the road (not too soon, though).

I actually found a bunch of ghost stories about a local hometown bar. Was thinking of checking it out.

I do, I grew up in a haunted house, my Dad still lives there. I had many experiences as a child, many many many.....LOL

Yep. Before we bought our house we lived in an apt that was a old converted school house from the early 1900's (maybe earlier not really sure) we had the only children in the place. From time to time we'd hear kids laughing after the kids were asleep so we'd go check on the girls (the boys weren't born yet) and they would be sound asleep. Too young to even play sleeping. The noise started to pick up after we made an offer on the house and we were packing. I was watching something that said you could invite the ghosts with you if you wanted... Well I did :) The noise stopped. We use to hear them when we first moved in but then it just got less and less... we use to joke about our fake children. I was just thinking about them the other day! I always wondered who they were. I'm guessing they just wanted someone to play with and our girls were the only kids there. Nothing bad ever happened. They were nice ghost children. lol

Details???? popcorn::

Well I don't have time now, bump this thread back up in a few days and I'll post. But I had my own guardian angel or ghost in the house, she died in the room I had and she would come to me after I had horrible dreams and comfort me, I would also see her standing on the Widow's Walk (no clue why the house had one, we lived in the mountains in Oregon, no ocean around LOL) and she'd wave at me but as soon as my friends would look she'd be gone. Kids playing upstairs when we were all downstairs, our backdoor would open itself (that may have been a bad knob, the dog could push it open LOL), nothing negative ever happened there but it was still weird. LOL My oldest DDs Dad (DD21) lived in a haunted house too, he woke up one night and someone was over him in bed with a knife, he could see their reflection in the door, he sat up, turned around, no one was there but a knife was quivering in the floorboards of his room.....

Do I believe in ghosts? Well, yah. Why not?

I do too..when my dd was about 5 we lived in this really old house by a cometary and I could hear all kinds of things in the attic like people walking and stuff, I never told anyone and not the kids I didn't want them to be scared...one night I was tucking the kids in bed and my dd looked at me and asked "why do people shop in the attic?" I was blown away LOL

other things would happen like the light in the kitchen would go on and off only while I would cook and I could hear people digging in the back yard but none there...

BUT the one I really remember is when i was in the 5th grade I was fine when I went to bed I wasn't feeling bad or sick ...the only thing I remember is I woke up in my parents bed and confused. they said I just got out of the hospital for a very bad inner ear infection and was there for two days. Mom said that that night she was woke up by the worst scream she ever heard and realized it came from my room. she came in there and I was passed out with a burning fever and they rushed me to the hospital. Mom said in the state they found me that she was confused as to how I could have screamed and as horrible a scream it was ...Like I said I didn't scream I was so out of it that I couldn't have..anyway I remember this house very well and the bathroom had one of those lights that you had to pull the chain for it cone on and it would come on all the time..and just weird things like that...

There's a whole thread about personal ghost stories somewhere here. Some really chilling stories are posted there. If I can find it, I'll post a link.

We used to live in an old house and had strange things happen all the time. Things would go missing and turn up months later in really open places like the coffee table. Lights would turn off and on by themselves. Pounding on the door. One night I had just gone to bed and DH was still up in living room. I opened my eyes to see this black figure standing by the bed leaning over and looking at me. It straightened up and backed into the closet. But the one that I have physical evidence of was the nicest really. DH was at work one really cold cold day. I was trying to change the headlight in the pickup in the garage. I could not get to it except to take the grill off. But the problem was the grill was attached to the frame by plastic screws that you could not remove without tearing them. I finally got frustrated and went inside to thaw out. Came out about 20 minutes later and the screws had been removed, grill pulled forward and screws back in place. Now I could change the headlight. I never let a mechanic replace the screws because I figured the ghost went to all that trouble. But it was physical evidence.

I love the paranormal. I even got a TAPS hat for Christmas. I wish I had some interesting stories to share, but I haven't been lucky enough to have any encounters yet.
