Just got back from my day trip to Universal Studios. We stayed until about 6:00PM or so and then went to the Florida Mall in Orlando.
Just so the know, the only reason why I was going to Universal wasn't really to go on any rides. It was JUST to see the Ghostbusters Show and to try to find The Dark Marauder
Well, my mom and I got inside the park about 8:45AM and headed straight to MIB. We rode it 3 times. Still haven't beaten my personal best but got in the 500,000s two of the 3 times.
After that we went on a couple other rides.
Then we went to try to find Dark Marauder. We ended up finding him (or rather, he saw me first, with my bright yellow seat cushion
(and you said it didn't count!!!) ) and I asked him the seagull question ("Are you a seagull in disguise?" In case you don't know).
My mom and I then took a leisurely walk around the park until about 10:30AM. Too my disappointment, the first Ghostbusters Show is now at 12:45PM, for they have rid of the 11:30AM show. I don't know why...but oh well.
We took the oppurtunity to see the 11:45AM Horror Makeup Show, that way I'd still get to the Ghostbusters Show 30 minutes early.
As soon as the Horror Makeup Show was over, I forced the automatic doors open so I could hurry to my spot.
But as I neared the stage I saw the most horrific thing...SOMEONE IN MY SPOT!!!
I quickly set my stuff next to her and silently snarled. I knew that this girl would be someone I'd have to worry about with my spot for the rest of the day.
I saw the first show. The girl and her mother left and I decided that...since the next show was only an hour away, I'd just stay. So I moved my things over to my spot and walked around the area to pass the time (grr they give away what happens in the park guides now!!!! And the description isn't even all that accurate! Why must the ruin the shock of the show? *sigh*).
The second show, I think the girl was really surprised to see me there already. She sat right next to me. We talked a littlebit and she seemed pretty nice.
After that show, we headed over to Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. On the way over there, a woman stops me and asks "Do you post on the DIS boards?" I tell her "yes" and she asked if I was "Flyfly."
(Hi Jean!!) She just saw the show and they liked it (post, Jean, post! Lurk no more!!). It was cool to meet TWO people from the DIS boards in the same day!! Guess my yellow seat cushion is my trademark!!
Anyway, I was worried the girl would take my spot again, so I lost my appetite and had to get a to-go box...we had *just* gotten our food too. I ran over to get my spot while my mom paid and carried my things with her (I can't run as fast carrying a seat cushion, camcorder bag, and camera bag...not to mention a soda and doggy bag!!). I was able to calm down when I saw she wasn't there yet. But of course not!!! It was not even 2:50PM and the next show was at 3:45!
Well, a bunch of people started coming and I told them where they should sit (almost every trip I go, I get asked if I'm an employee and people ask me about the show...like what times, where to sit, how long is it, etc.)
I stood by my things and saw two girls coming. I recognized the two girls from when I saw the Ghostbusters Show...a couple months ago!! I had showed one girl my pictures and she remembered. She sat right behind me until she was able to move up front. The other girl sat behind a couple people who sat beside me.
After seeing that show, they had to move the car, so I moved my things about a yard away (even if they wouldn't have come close to my things with the car, I didn't want them to worry about the stuff). Well, as soon as they JUST moved out of the way, the girl comes and TAKES MY SPOT!!!!!!!!!!!
I had only moved my things so they could move the car and she took my spot! Her mom didn't say anything and I was pretty upset that the girl did this.
Thankfully, the other two girls had sat down next to where my spot was and moved over so I could sit closer to my spot. That was really nice of them
It was about an hour wait until the next show. All of us stayed to wait for the last show. I talked mostly with the two girls all about the Ghostbusters Show, but also talked to the other girl and her mom.
We saw the last show, which seems to always be the best show they do. I don't know why this is, but they sometimes change a few of their lines and it was hysterical.
We then rode BTTF and then left to go to the Florida Mall.
so, overall, the only bad news I have, is I got sunburned from the hours of sitting and waiting (in addition to actually watching) the Ghostbusters Show. Yuck! But it was well worth it
