Well since Halloween is coming, I thought we might start sharing some ghost stories. Post away.

its a good idea i dont have any storys but id like to here some so im giveing this a nice bump

I guess I'll tell one of ghost stories I've heard about my campus being haunted...

There's this one building, Glatfelter, that has a bell/clock tower. Legend has it that in the 50s, there were these two lovers, whose families hated each other (a la Romeo and Juliet). They thought up this idea that since they couldn't be together in life, they'd be together in death, so they were planning to jump off the tower at midnight on the next full moon.
Well, midnight comes, and the girl jumps, but the guy doesn't.

The ghost story now is that every full moon, a ghost of a woman lures men up to the top of the tower and gets them to jump.

So many men have committed suicide off the top of the bell tower that the college finally closed the stairwell leading up there. No one can get up there anymore.

creepy, ain't it?

Plus, I went on a ghost tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield - Confederate Gravesites a few weeks ago, and was really creeped out by the stories the tour guide was telling us. :)

Okay well I have an alarm clock with a radio in it and few nights ago it started acting very strange. About 2 am it turned itself on. I figured I must have set the alarm or something so I turned over made sure it wasn't the alarm (and it wasn't) and I pressed the power button to turn the radio off. Then around 2:30 am it turned itself on again. So I turned over again turned it off again and began to fall back asleep. It did it again and again and again every 15-20 minutes. It must have done it 7 or 8 times, I was ready to throw the clock against the wall. I didn't know what was wrong with it and of course it's at night and I'm in the room by myself and everytime the radio would turn on to static/fuzz. It freaked me out. Eventually I just left the radio on and turned the volume all the way down so I couldn't hear it (that was the only way I could make it stop).

I found out later that Butz old side (which is the wing I live in) is haunted. In 1956 a girl named Wanda committed suicide after finding out she was pregnant (no one knows for sure though..no one can confirm it). I was told that they don't give out that room anymore and well, there's an empty room next to mine.

Another thing happened recently though. I have a goldfish and Gaby (the girl in the room connecting to mine) likes to stick stuff in his bowl. So she had a flower and put it in there before we left to get dinner. We come back and the flower is on top of her computer. No one had any idea that she put a flower in the bowl so no one would have known to take it out. She was pretty freaked out...

Now whenever something strange happens we blame it on Wanda...

theres this ghost that lives in my bathroom, and he likes to make the water in the toilet run at like, midnight or so. I have actualy seen him. he doesent really have a "human" shape to him, hes all airy and whispy looking. i named him Louis, and i talk to him sometimes. hes really nice. :goodvibes

usualy when i have problems or need someone to talk to i talk to him, and my parents are always asking me who im talking to, and i tell them im talking to Louis. some people think im crazy.

I really don't know many ghost stories. This story was taken from the Travel Channel it really freaks me out: (It took place in the Flordia Keys)This story is like AllyGirlie's.
There is this museum in the Flordia Keys, and a long time ago a boy was given a doll. He named him Robert. After he was given the doll strange things started to happen. After the boy died, Robert was put into a museum. He had a little chair to sit on, and a small plush dog. When the morning came Robert's feet were dirty. After the museum closes Robert comes out of the cage and runs around. :scared1: Some people thought he was voodooed, or a haunted doll.
They have a video of Robert running around on the Travel Channel. So now if anything happens to the city, they blame Robert.

well compared to thm mine aren't scary but anyway...

me and 7 mates went on a school camp to a place called hilston for 2 nights. everyone said it was haunted aparently whenn it was a priately owned mansion a fire had ripped through it and killed the son. so me and 2 mates were walking through this kind of mini hal there were 4 doors 2 leading into two rooms and 1 to get in 1 to get out(of the mini hally thingy) so me and mates step inside and we get hit by a cold draft we check the two rooms no windows open no fans on and suddenly papers start moving but noones in there then the 4 doors blow shut we try to go out backwards but the door is locked we try the door infront locked there was no way we were going into the rooms so we pushed and pushed on the door and it unlocked itself as we were pushing really hard and my mates ended up on the floor while i ran to our room they said they heard strange cackilng while they were on the floor though

When I was a baby and when my sister was a baby we live in a haunted house. That is what my parents tell us. My dad is not the kind of person to go about claiming that we lived in a haunted house as he can be a very skeptical person. Hearing from my dad that is is haunted helps me believe it to be. After we moved, the home owners after us claimed it was haunted. Just a couple of years ago my mom had a student in her class who was telling her about a house he looks after when the owners are gone. He told her of how it was haunted. When he described the house and location my mom was surprised to hear it was our old house. Well, the things that happened weren't extreme, but enough to scare someone.

My dad worked night shifts leaving my mom home alone during the nights. Heh, naturally the every single light in the house stayed on. No way was she going to leave herself alone in a darkened haunted house.

This event happened during the day. My dad was not home and my mom was vaccuuming. The windows were all closed as the air outside a tad too cold to leave the windows open. While she was doing this tedious chore, every door in the house swung open and slammed shut in sync. They did it again two more times...swing open and slam shut...all in sync.

This happened during the early morning hours. My dad was gone at work. My mom was up in her room getting ready to come down and she heard loud talking and laughing. The voices were clearly distinguishable. She ran to the window to see if my dad's car was there. She figured he was home on talking on the phone or something. No car. The talking got louder and was certain to be coming from the kitchen...she was able to point out a room, that's how clear the voices were. No one was there.

This happened while my dad was home. They were both sleeping. It was in the middle of the night (weekend) and before they fell asleep my mom sterilized the baby bottles. We also had three cats. Well, during that night they heard the bottles crashing. Both my parents jerked up from a deep sleep, both hearing the sound of the falling bottles. My mom was frustrated as she had just finished cleaning them. The both figured the cats jumped up there a knocked them over. When they got down to the kitchen all the bottles were right as they left them.

Also, another common occurance was the opening of ALL the kitchen cubbards and draws.

This happened when my mom was home alone. A neighbor called and asked is she was aware there was someone in her upstairs room. The neighbor noticed there were no cars in the driveway and didn't recognize the person in the window. My mom explained how she was the only one in the house besides my sister and me. The person remained in the upstairs window.

There were also all kinds of little things that serve enough to spook anyone. One such event includes the flipping of my sister's bassinette (sp?). The bassinette top would flip sides.

That's eerie... Mine just did that last night. I freaked out. I just rolled over and turned my back to it and fell asleep. When I woke up, it was blaring, when I had left it at the lowest. My alarm was turned off even when I had it on. I freaked.. again. Then. I heard an opera. They were singing "Bye, goo'bye. Byeeeeee." And guess what? I freaked. LOL

Hey if I were you I would freak out also.

My ghost story is based on an old BigFoot Legend, down in Florida this year, we went camping with our church kids, all boys. I've heard accounts of BIGFOOT being almost ten feet tall.. there was an old abandaned floor above us.. we dared NOT to go up there, better chance of him getting us up there than on the ground floor. We went out for him. A boy took his dad's camera with us, to get evidence - of his death, not BIGFOOT - so we all went out for him, seeing how far we dared to go out into the woods.. I started talking to the boys.. it went silent.. I turned my head to the left, they fled! what chickens!! we were at least a fifth of a mile from the cabin, I saw a flash, from the camera, and a huge - thing - was staring down on me.. it turned and went behind me and stopped behind me in the direct path of another boy.. I dared not turn and look back. The next morning, we found him face up in the water, still alive but badly scratched and bruised, he said through white as ice skin, the terrifying account of being attacked.. he now has book upon book on Big Foot in his room.. and movies about him too.. ain't that scary? I'd surely say so!!!

Did you guys know that in theory, 3 in the morning is considered the bewitching hour...not midnight. In most "fictional" stories it is thought of as the hour of 12:00 a.m., but according to "real" stories it's the hour of 3:00 a.m.
