The walls around the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop are down. :thumbsup2

Ghirardelli is soft-opening on Friday, June 1. The "official" opening is June 7.

I heard this was going to have a mock factory tour like the mission tortilla factory had, but I can't remember if it was official or not. Do you know?

IDK, but if you say ""Maseca!" they will give you a free Ghirardelli chocolate square. :earsboy:

From what I heard, it will be just a candy and soda fountain shop! Thats how it is at WDW as well!

COULD be wrong, but have not heard anything beyound that and with just a week to go, it seems like those details wouldve been leaked by now.

Can't wait to try it. My list of new places to try this summer is getting pretty long! Add this to E of S, Carthay Circle, and all those "cone" places!

Yum!!!!

Is this one similar to the one in Downtown Disney at Disney World -- with Milkshakes? This looks like it is bigger than the one there which is nice since the line can get pretty long.

That's what I get for reading Wikipedia. :sad2: I know; don't start.

My guess is it will be like the one in San Francisco, where there is a large display within the seating area detailing the chocolate making process. So, no tour per se, but still an educational component.

Today's Cast Soft Opening:

They handed out menus,
and said that tomorrow they would have a soft opening for "Guests"?

No Indoor seating, Huge two sided menu.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but that looks exactly like the one handed out at their shop in SF. I am so excited!!!!! :cool1: I love their warm brownie sundaes like no other.

I wonder if they will also be selling candy as well? That would be good (and slightly dangerous to the waistline :rolleyes1).

Wow cool! So I guess it basically opened already! I know its only 'CMs' today but I have a feeling if they are already letting them in, then they probably will have it open for guest soon no matter what they say!

Anyway looks great and the prices are reasonable for a Ghirardelli and inside a theme park! So not bad! I am dissappointed they dont have any seating in the place, but I guess its not needed since its in a huge seating area already. Oh well!

And boy another poster said it, there is going to be ALOT of food and drink options at the resort this summer: Ghirardeli, Practical Cafe, Clarabells, Starbucks, CCT restaurant, Flos, Cozy Cone and Earl of Sandwhich people certainly cant complain about the lack of food and desserts in the place!

So excited for this when we go to DL in November!! We went to the one at WDW DTD last Christmas season.... the line was sooo long that we decided not to wait, so you can bet I am gonna be willing to wait this time around.

What's on the other side of the two sided menu? Most on this one looks like sundaes.

We would LOVE if they know how to make a real good old fashioned chocolate soda. (chocolate syrup, soda water and ice cream) Whenever we go to Baskin Robbin 33 flavors in our town we have to explain how to make one.
