My dd is a bit of a slide chicken... will they let kids ride down with their parents holding them? Otherwise, I guess will have to wait till she gets some courage!

From what I remember 3 years ago, they won't let you go down double on the slide. The child has to be able to swim well enough to make it to the side on their own after. But that may have just been the rules of the lifeguard we had. I'm not sure if others have had different experiences. I think they have a smaller baby slide at the end of the pool by the jacuzzi IIRC. My mind may be mixing up the GCH and the DLH. It's been a while. . . . ;)

No, you cannot go double. I think you can swim out and wait near the bottom for them, though.

We were just there last week. DangerMouse is correct, you can't go double, and the lifeguard wasn't crazy about my husband hanging out at the bottom to catch our daughter. It's 5 feet deep there. However, DM is also correct that there is a very tame. smaller slide into the kid's pool. Perfect for slide chickens! :)

Like everyone mentioned above, you can't go tandem down the and you can't wait for your child at the end of the big slide. If your child is younger than 5, they may even ask your child to pass a swim test before they can go down the big slide. There is a small slide that young children can go on and have parents wait at the bottom. It's maybe only 5 feet long.

My dd and niece were both asked to do a swim test, niece was 4 years old and dd was 4 and was asked again at 5 yo.

Oh well... I know she won't do it alone... guess we'll wait till she's bigger... its more me that wants to do the slides... but if I am sliding, then on this trip, she won't have anyone to sit with her and wait for me! Maybe next time...

dh would go and then dd8 would follow. And dh would always be at the bottom to catch her. They did this about 7 times and the lifeguard had no issues with it. Then I guess someone new came on and they did it again, now as soon as she was down, he would make sure they got out of the way. But the last time when dh was waiting for her, this other lifeguard starting yelling at dh to get away from the slide. Well, he wasn't going to leave my dd without telling her and she was already on her way down, she'd have freaked out. So, he waited, caught her, and then they left the pool area. The thing is, they weren't bothering anyone else, they weren't preventing anyone from coming down, they weren't in anyone's way, and they weren't horseplaying. And not waiting at the bottom of the slide is not a posted rule that we could find anywhere, it should be posted at the slide if it's that big of a deal.
