In this scenario, and essentially in any scenario that includes a "new" system, wouldn't that mean that GFV owners cannot pool all of their DVC points (from GFV and non-GFV resorts) together to make one reservation? If that's true, then I think that's a huge disincentive for existing owners to buy in/add on. My brain hurts from thinking about this.![]()
They would be able to at 7 months just as any other DVC member, but combining points from different resort at 11 months won't work as that would affect the 11 month priority and be an issue with the FL timeshare laws.
If DVD wants to create a "new" division of DVC where combining points is allowed for all resorts in that division, that would be fine but it would not include any of the current resorts. I suppose they could structure a "new" brand of DVC resorts with whatever reservation policies they want, but that still would not affect owners at the current resorts. While there are many things DVC is certainly able to modify at will, there is a core of current policy that cannot be changed.
