GF's RPC CONCIERGE WORTH EXTRA $2,000?

I haved stayed at the GF three times... once in the RPC (main building), once in a lodge tower room (Sago Cay), and once in a lagoon view room (Conch Key).

In your situation, with two young children under 3, I would go for the lodge tower room. You are going to save a lot of money over concierge, and you'll be getting a much larger room. :) The lodge tower rooms have an extra sitting room with a couch, second TV, table and chairs. Housekeeping brought us a crib, highchair, fridge, and microwave all free of charge. :) It was nice to have the extra area, especially when we'd come back for nap time. (our children were quite young, age 2 and age 6 months)

If you need snacks, etc, you can just walk down to Gasparilla Grill. They have all types of snack foods and drinks, plenty of things kids like. :)

If you have any questions feel free to ask. :)

Erika - from the Travel Channel ;) - hello again! I enjoyed your show and also your Wiggles pix! Our original thought was actually the lodge tower room - LOVED the set up, but we called 2 weeks ago to book for OCT  and the tower rooms were already taken :(

poohluvrs--I am going to hijack your thread to ask a question :scratchin
We are a party of five, plus a baby in a crib. I called this am to add three days at the GF RPC to our December trip. The CM on the phone told me that the rooms in the RPC section only slept four people and were smaller than regular rooms, is this true or am I asking for the wrong thing? He said to stay in RPC I would have to get a 2 bedroom suite or two rooms. Is this true or am I dealing with a misinformed CM?

You are dealing with a misinformed CM, call back! The standard concierge rooms have 2 beds, plus a daybed and they are the same size as a non-concierge room. Deluxe concierge rooms only sleep 4, but they are quite a bit bigger.

No it's not worth the extra $2000.00 . The Disney hotels (except for the Swan and Dolphin now) don't even have those heavenly pillow top beds. They are over rated and over priced.

Do what you will, but just for a moment consider what you could do with $2000.00 - for both yourself, your family and to make the lives of others a little better.

Actually the GF and YC are two resorts that I know of which have pillow top mattresses now.

We love the RPC, this will be our third summer staying there. We've actually become friendly with some of the cm's in the lounge, especially a wonderful lady named Maria.

The first year we were there we met another couple and their kids there, and now every summer we meet up with them there, it's a lot of fun!

Also, last year one of the night turn down maids showed us the different suites, honeymoon vs one bedroom suite. In fact, the one bedroom suite that we saw was the one that Roy Disney liked to stay in.

It really is a wonderful place to sit and relax with a glass of wine overlooking the lobby listening to the wonderful band and piano player. Any questions just ask away! :flower3:
