OK...I'm hoping to catch the eye of some major GF fans. The tower rooms sound really cool to me, but I want to hear from some people with experience exactly what they are like inside. I was told by a friend of a friend's cousin's boyfriend's father (you know what I mean!) that they contain 3 walls of floor to ceiling windows plus a balcony, and they all have MK views. That just seems way to good to be true...can anyone give me the real scoop, and also tell me what they usually go for. I don't even see them listed on the WDW website. Any info at all about them would be much appreciated! (Pictures would make me your new best friend! )

Thanks!

Nope, no floor to ceiling windows, and only the tower rooms on the second and third floors have balconies. Janet gave you some good info, if you have questions let me know. ;)

Heather,

We were lucky enough to get a tower room on our recent GF stay. We were in the main building and they have 4 tower rooms I believe. Only 2 of them had views of the Magic Kingdom however. We were on the 5th floor, so no balcony, but we did have 8 palladium windows that offered views from the wedding pavilion all the way over to the castle. There was a nice entry way into the room and the bathroom was located off that. Double sinks, a large walk in closet and the bathtub was a nice deep soaking tub big enough for two. Inside the room, there was a big beautiful 4 poster bed and a very nice sitting area complete with a wet bar. The room was so nice, that I felt a little guilty not spending more time in it.

The room Tammi is describing is not the "lodge tower room". Just so you know. :)

Do I have incorrect info.? I was told that the lodge tower rooms on the 2nd 3rd and 4th floors had balconies, and no balconies on the 1st and 5th floors.

The room Tammi is describing is not the "lodge tower room".

Erika,

What kind of room did I get? Is it still called a "tower room" even though it's inside the main building? I just want to make sure I have the right name for future reference.

Thanks,
Tammi

That's a good question.

When booking a room in the main building you have three choices....

1. main building concierge
2. main building deluxe concierge
3. suites (several different choices here, but be careful because some suites are not in the main building)

If you wanted the specific room you described, the one you had before, you would probably have to contact the concierge and request it. (and I'm sure it's probably not guaranteed)

**************************

When booking regular non-concierge rooms you have these choices:

1. standard garden view
2. standard lagoon view
3. lodge tower

All of these rooms are in the lodge buildings. (Boca Chica, Big Pine Key, Conch Key, Sago Cay) And do NOT include concierge services.

***************************

Then the third option is Sugar Loaf - Lodge concierge. It's a category all on it's own with it's own lodge building and separate concierge area.

Thanks everyone for your input. I thought what I heard was too good to be true! Janet did give me some great links, and it sounds like none of the tower rooms have MK views, so I'll have to think about that one.

I was wondering if the room Tami described was perhaps an octagon honeymoon suite? The 8 windows she described made me think that.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the help Erika. I always book a regular concierge room in the main building and that's what I've gotten in the past. Maybe we were upgraded to an honeymoon suite and I didn't even realize it :teeth: . I just always thought those suites were located on the 2nd floor of the main building. I learn something new on this board everyday!

The Octagon turret rooms on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of the main building are in the Concierge Honeymoon room category. :)
