GF to Poly travel time?

We are booking our son for the 9:30 pirate cruise at GF one morning, and planning to go to breakfast at Kona after we drop him off. What would be a safe time to get our breakfast res?

You can walk from GF to the Poly in 10 minutes - there's a nice path along the water. I think a 10 AM reservation would work, as long as you can leave the GF at 9:30-9:40.

I would think walking would be faster than the monorail because of the direction it runs. If you're gonna take the monorail, make it a little later.

I agree about using the walkway, because if you took the Resort Monorail it will stop at the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and TTC before it arrives at the Polynesian.

Or take the boat from the dock - its path runs GF-Poly-MK-GF, etc. If you're dropping kids off at the boat dock (I don't know where the check in is for the cruise), you can ride the resort boat over. It will probably be about the same time as walking, unless you get a greatly timed boat and then you'll be there in about 5 minutes and not have to worry about dodging the golf carts.

We took the monorail from the GF to the Poly yesterday--had no idea there was a walking path! Anyway, it took about 20 minutes.

One thought though - does it always go in the same order - I know what you posted was the order in the afternoon, but is there any chance that earlier in the day it might go Poly-GF-MK-Poly? I know the Wilderness Lodge launch changes order from morning to afternoon.

It always goes GF-Poly-MK-GF.

Wanted to add that the launch doesn't leave from the same place that you will be dropping off your little pirate. The cruise leaves from the marina (unless that has changed). The launch boards at the dock by Narcoossee's. It's a matter of a couple minutes walk. Head between the two buildings near the porate ship. They are Conch Key and Sugar Loaf. Hang a left and walk to the dock by Narcoossee's.

We did the walk and it was so beautiful in the morning. It took a good 10 minutes.
